Hi! My husband used to have a cossie back in the 90's.

He was just my friend back then but I remember going to some place in Horsham with him - a couple of guys used to work on it there. I had a GTE 16v at the time. I was more into those. He sold it to go motorbike racing.

Yep i've had quite a few of them over the past 16/17 years. Sold my 40,010 mile moonstone 3 door last month so am now Cosworthless.

Still have the old engine out of YUM with a fresh rebuild under it's belt sitting in the garage so have to decide whether to keep it for future use or punt it on.

Would love another MK2 so it would be good in that but have also found myself looking at Talbot Sunbeams latley :supz:

I haven't been on passionford for couple of years, so Dave sold yum in bits? Did he every hit the 200mph he was chasing?

My Dad had a 3 Door Sierra when they first come out, then had an RS500 as soon as they come out. I have some photos at home, will get them scanned in and post them up.

I would like to know if either are still about as we heard not long after he sold the RS500, it was stolen. That's the reason he got rid of his, was constantly worried about it getting nicked. I loved those cars, he also had a rake of XR4i's, XR4x4's, RST's, XR3i's and XR2's. He used to be into Accident Repairs.

Look forward to some more photos.

Had a great trackday at Rockingham (prior to GT Battle 2005) in this baby http://www.wrc-cosworth.org/pics/lloyd/lloyd.html

MENTAL!

Such great handling (and good driver of course!) it murdered everything at that first GTB (which afterwards became Time Attack).

One of my all time favourite Escort's that! I was at the first GTB at Rockingham and thought it was amazing (I now think TA is crap! lol), Gareth Lloyd is a stunning driver as you say, this car also won TOTB Handling in year 1! :smokin:

He is now doing very well in the TA Series in an Evo isn't he?

I'm sure Gareth also own's a CSL and a genuine Ferrari F40! :supz:

I was there too - I ran the datalogger in the car.

Yeah he's doing well in the TA but it's still all down to the last event in a few weeks. Missed out winning a few events - you know EVOs and reliability...... :banghead: :hahaha:

He got a CSL after I let him drive mine around Donington years ago  One of my two very best mates, a top geezer. His brother has an RS500 (Dick Johnson) too.

Hi Steve,

Welcome aboard. I made the switch nearly 4 years ago and never looked back. Here's my old cossie which was also at the first GT battle.

I'd certainly go back as well; no chance of that though as it was sadly nicked from the guy who bought it from me. I find myself looking through pistonhedz every so often but i just don't have the space.

Yeah Andy has done a few! Proper!! And Gareth's Escort still lives but it hasn't seen much action recently! Bloody fantastic car though - it's all in the setup. So easy to throw a billion horsepower at cars but as we saw in GTB 05 it's not all about that lol

And the red car - the detail was a one off freebie :hahaha: He's not one of those wash and stick it away types, he gets it used - PROPERLY!

Shame Andy doesn't have it out now and again, I had loads of video's of the car in the 80's ATCC seasons on VHS! :hahaha: :smokin: I bet he knows Martin Johnson down our way in Hampshire, he has/had the ANZ Banking car from OZ, Eggenberger Texaco RS500 and Tim Harvey's BTCC winning Labatt's RS500 too, oh and a genuine Merc 190 Cosworth DTM! :supz: :supz:

I bet Gareth use's the car's properly indeed :hahaha: ;) IF I ever buy another one I'll ask you about the setup, I know it's not all about HP for sure as with a couple of other Escos's I know that race! ;)
