Ok, so as some of you know, I aint too car tech savvy.... I bought a second set of CSL wheels with Cups earlier in year meant for Spa, but didnt take them. The tyres are scrubbed but still good for a couple of TD's and have sat in storage since ~March.

Will be taking them to Silverstone in October for first outing....besides checking pressures, can I just slap them on and go or should I get them balanced or whatever ? Inevitably I'll only be driving a 5/tenths..

Shimmy, Rob et al......advice pls...

The front need to balanced You may get away without the rear being balanced but would recommend both as it's not a lot of money compared to a wasted track day

I had a set of front tyres swapped onto my track rims whilst at Spa back in May. They didn't balance them and said they would be fine on track.

I was dubious at first but true to their word they were fine and i have experienced no vibration or wheel wobble - even on the roads back home.

If it bothers you then get them balanced - cheap to do.

if the Cups are on the CSL rims and been balanced already, just PUT THEM ON AND DRIVE THERE WITH THEM!

otherwise yes, get them balanced:thumbs:

I was going to say I'd be inclined to drive with them on the road first and see if they need it, if not then just check pressure's and get on track with them

I would always get wheels/tyres balanced every time but I'm a fussy bastard with a hint of OCD.;)
