The M3 GTS is tested in the "Sportauto" of september.

the runtime of Von Saurma on nordschleiffe -> 7'48" with P-zero corsa

Only 2" less that the CSL in 2003 and 17" less than a M3 E92 standard.
i'm surprise by this "bad" time, Also because a CSL is 32" faster than " a standard" E46 with only 17hp more ...
ok the test not be done with ps cup, michelin don't product them in the good size.

On small Hockenheim, GTS is only 1 seconde faster.

0 Ã* 100 mesuré: 4"2
0 Ã* 200 : 14"1

M3 E36 3L2 bvm:

M3 E46 CSL:

Hockenheim: 1'12"5 en SS (P zero corsa)

what do you thing about this time?
7 years after, just 2 seconds?

to compare, the new GT3 RS 3.8 (7'33) is 15 secondes faster than the GTS(a world) and 7 secondes than the mark I GT3 RS.

i'm not understand!

Indeed. No surprise BMW kept the CSL out of sight at the launch of the GTS when they had every other M3 there. They kept it tucked away in the underground car park.:supz:

CSL makes more sense and better value every year we own them.

Hold on

Target for GTS was never gonna be current generation GT3RS. It's got to be the GT3 So that's gonna bring the times alot closer. Also if you stick on rubber that's gonna make 5-10 secs difference so say 7m 40s which is exactly 997GT3 gen2 times as well as Ford GT, Merc SLR and SLS, LP 640 and 1sec off 458, 430 scud, 911 turbo.

Don't underestimate what speeds these cars are doing and don't forget BMW have never said GTS is a competitor for the CSL

True Shim, BMW are going to great lengths not to have any comparison to the CSL at all.

I agree with the above but will say that I read somewhere that BMW built the GTS (not The Sun either lol, Wikipedia or something) in mind of beating the CSL around the Ring, I guess they've managed that, just ;)

Shimster is bang on the money - tyres are responsible for a good slice of time. CSL is still a cracking car!
