What level of warranty for alternator cover?

My 'friends' CSL has just had the dreaded battery light come on and the random switching off of car on the move.

What level of monthly warranty should he have to cover this?

The cheapest driveline option should cover this,ill check in my warranty book;or you can look on the BMW warranty web site.;)
