Mate, just got back from there last month. Went with 2 other couples so wasn't a boys thing. Lots of places I can suggest but a bit hungover at the moment. Will post later when my brain has woken up.

Bagatelle

Lunch & Dinner
Table 8 (Lower east side – bowery) – at the new cooper square hotel which I love. Apparently they also have great burgers. Cooper hotel is also not a bad place to grab a drink either. Nice lounge area.

Corner Bistro (West Village) – very casual, great burgers & beer, classic NY spot but not touristy. Mostly locals.

Momofuku (East Village) – also casual but very cool scene, great food, small venue so try to book a table but they do talk walk-in’s too. I also a good lunch option. They are a few different ones like the noodle bar and a fancier style restaurant but this is the one you want:

Yerba Buena Perry (west village) – new Latin American place that my friends there love.

http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/yerba-buena-perry/

Café Habana (Nolita) – This is a Cuban spot down the street from my old place, very hipster, casual, small and kind of gritty. Excellent Cuban food and the best mango margarita’s I’ve ever had. Fine for brunch, too…Actually if you head to Soho for shopping this is very close by.

Macao Trading co. (Tribeca) – Asian fusion, really great lounge downstairs for after/before dinner.

http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/macao-trading-co/

Minetta Tavern (Greenwich Village) – Great food, celeb scene but casual. Try to make a reservation bc its tough to get in.

Waverly Inn – very similar to Minetta Tavern. Might be the same owner. Classic NY spot, celeb/banker hangout, great food.

Death & Co (lower east side) – excellent food and really cool scene for dinner or just drinks.

Blue Ribbon (soho) – best sushi in NYC, casual, no ressies.

http://blueribbonrestaurants.com/

Da Silviano (west village) – GREAT Italian, trendy but low key.

Gemma (LES) – In the bowery hotel, good Italian and people watching. If it’s nice they have tables outside on the sidewalk.

Il Mulino (soho) – Great Italian, kind of fancy but not pricey.

http://nymag.com/listings/restaurant/il-mulino/

Babbo (soho) – Great Italian, great people watching. Tough to get ressies though so call asap if you want to go. It’s a Mario batalli joint.

Locanda Verde – De Niro’s new Italian restaurant in tribeca. Has gotten great reviews though I haven’t been.

Gramercy Tavern (flatiron/union square) – Not actually a tavern, slightly more upscale American cuisine. Been around for ages and is always excellent. Think Tanguy really liked this place.

http://gramercytavern.com/

La Esquina (soho) – very cool, casual, great Mexican. You actually walk downstairs and through the kitchen to get to the restaurant/bar. I can’t remember but back in the day you used to have to know someone to get the number for reservations but looks like its listed here. I highly recommend this place if you can get in.

Tortilla Flats (west village) -great Mexican, very casual, fun bar

Sorry Ian forgot about this mate.

Depends on how deep your pockets are and who you're going to be out with.

Del Frisco's Steakhouse: quality steak and has a great reputation

Abe & Arthur's: In the meatpacking district, very cool, very expensive, really fit women.

Kittichai: In Soho and again very cool and expensive, probably best to go in couples.

Balthazar: Soho, really good place for a hangover brunch, lunch.

Pastice: similar concept to Balthazar but more in Midtown. Open really late so good to go there after a bar/club.

Grammercy Hotel: has an amazing rooftop bar

Don't know where you are staying but we stayed in the London NYC which was a superb hotel, and the bar there wasn't too shabby either. Some of the hotel bars are the best so the W Hotels have good bars and the Hudson has a very cool bar as well.

Hope that helps, have a great time.
