Hi guy's, the Girlf is in the process of changing her car and wants another convertible, at the moment she has a V Plate MX5 Import.

She started off looking at heavyweight Audi's but I've shown her the way forward with BMW's

I'm looking at a 2002 E46 325I M Sport Convertible in Topaz Blue with 65k Miles on for her and wondered what I need to look out for?

Does the 6cyl 325I engine still need a running in check at 1250 miles?

Is there anything else that needs to be checked or is there anything they fail on to look out for?

Thanks :)

Probably many of the same issues as the CSL; servicing, worn suspension bushes, cracked rear springs, sill plate discolouration, water in the side indicators, SMG clutch issues, etc.

Of course being a somewhat ':gayfight:' convertible, look for roof damage and correct folding action as well as kerb damage to the wheels where the previous owners have been posing rather than paying attention to the road :bigcry:

Cheers Rob, I wondered if they suffered from anything in particular or if they should have had any recall's done etc?

Do they still need the 1250 miles service?

Probably mate, have a look at some of the other BMW forums as i'm sure you will find plenty of info there about soft tops.

No they don't Dan...they are on the Long Life service schedule:thumbs: The 1200 "Running In" is mainly for M cars.
As Rob said, all other E46 issues exist... broken rear springs and worn out suspension bushes front & back. Make sure the hood and it's back window are in good shape as they are very costly to fix

Thanks Matt, I'll keep my eyes open when viewing as normal, should all be fine, as per my HPI thread the car we were planning on looking at is dodgy anyway so the search continues...

Are you thinking of Laguna Seca as that's rough IMHO! Just seen one tonight in the flesh and it looked really nice, although I can't help but think an Arctic Silver one is better! ;)
