IIRC, the battery is not covered on warranty.
But, it is supposed to be a component that lasts the lifetime of the vehicle if used correctly and i would imagine that some goodwill replacements have occurred in the past for those that have failed...

No chance is battery covered. Had alternator fail earlier this year - this covered but battery not. Despite getting hammered on battery price by stealer, I think it is unreasonable to expect this under warranty.

My Alternator failed and they changed that and the battery under warranty
I told them that the battery had failed because of the Alternator failing and they were fine with that.

Another good example of consistancy across the dealer network :bigcry:
Thats a good result Stu ......I thought it was specifically mentioned in the booklet as not being covered.

**Kinell! £300 for a battery! Mine lost charge at Christmas when I couldn't get it out the garage for 3 weeks. BMW Assist charged it and initially said it would be replaced under warranty if it didn't hold a charge. It did hold charge and all was well until April when it died completely. Cost £100. Queried the charge given previous guy's comment although suspected not covered (per the policy wording) which was confirmed by Mondial...
