Dont keep on eye on prices much, but couldnt help noticing this one...Looks like sold within 3 days of advertising...
Not bad for an 03 / 62K miles (assuming owner got close to asking price)...

I want mine to be realistic and a decent deal to any prospective buyer. There is no movement on my price. If it goes, then so be it, if it doesn't then am absolutely fine with that as well. For the first time in my life, I don't need to sell a car which is a nice feeling.

Isn't that likely to be a 53 car, with an 03 cherished plate? Still, not a bad price for that mileage

After being idle for a while due to a house move and no internet in the new place yet, I decided to do some catching up.
Cant believe what BMW are asking for the 2 CSL's they're selling at the moment. Something like £31.5K and £33K for another, both about 40K miles too.
It's all good, not that we're bothered though, woohoooo!!!!
I've been speaking to a mate about this and it's unrealistic but a good point to bare in mind if it worked!
He reckon's that anyone (within reason) with a CSL for sale in the UK at least should club together and put a 10-15k premium on them, if everyone did it then it would move the overall price of them back up rather than just having one overpriced car, people then wouldn't have an option but to pay the inflated price as that would in time become the norm!...
As I say in the cold light of day unrealistic but a nice thought never the less, they'll go up in their own time, you only have to look at the E30 Evo's! ;)

What about if we started a CSL Register fund, and bought up a few cars and then readvertised them with the premium, then we wouldn't have to sell our own!
On a slight tangent, enjoyed the news yesterday that the average price of fuel is going to go to £1.20 a litre...
That'll be and 8p a litre saving on Super... (if only!)
hi all
fairly new to this forum
i find myself in a position similar to ANISSUT unfortunately/reluctantly selling my CSL but no really bothered if it doesnt go!
What would people’s views be on the price, being that the car doesn’t have the obligatory air con, stereo, parking sensors and xenon’s???

IMO a genuine 16.5k miles car regardless of options is worth more than 29k mate, 16.5k is massively low mileage and it seems that these lower mileage car's are the ones that can command a higher price :)
ok bear with me im a newbie to forums..........is that sarcasm shimmy??
Plus a car without any options will be worth a mint in the future IMO
cheers dan thanks for the advice

NO
so cheap it looks dodgy imho
id say a genuine 16.5k mile car should be on the advert for £35k but sell anywhere above £32k
Cheers shimmy thanks for the advice!
the mileage is genuine the car has the usual little bits and pieces that need doing i.e. few stone chips to bumper (mainly cosmetic things) but other than that is in good condition.
Thanks for the reassurance.

What Shimmy said... it HAS TO be, at the very least £35K
Some car dealers like Mr N.J. are selling examples (albeit with some obligatory options ;) :hahaha: ) with more miles for mid £30 K.
Yours represents what a TRUE M3 CSL should be... Option less and as lightweight as originally intended
Get it looking A1 and £35K is achievable as it would make a cracking Track Toy for someone or at worst a valuable asset to a Private collector.

As everyone is saying mate, ramp that price up a bit and I'm guessing you're probably already realising it's a bit cheap with the amount of phone calls you're getting already, ;-)
I know of someone that paid £32K privately for one with 23K miles on it (iirc) and a load of options on it.
Good luck with the sale either way, someone will get a cracking car nonetheless!

With the M3 GTS being so overpriced and not much quicker,
all BMW did is push the price of the CSL up.:smokin:
This is also in the context of a market where car makers have to become more green and concentrate on ROI, so you won't get many true hardcore M cars led by the engineers in the future either :banghead:

How very interesting guys. Can I ask if any of you have seen this car?? No, guessed not.
See my querries a few threads below and compare comments there against points made below and believe these refer to same car.
My initial thourghts to were 16.5k miles @ £29k got to be worth a look-see. I have and seen enough to be interested but not at £29k and neither would most of you either unless you are soley interested in price-hiking as own one already but then you would not really be likely to buy another :banghead:
The car is by no means poor but it needs spending on to bring it up to £29++k mark and as a 'non-extras' model it is not worth same as ones with the std. options ie a/c & stereo in todays market and may well not be for many many moons.
Ultimately proof is in the pudding as if it was/is that good a deal it would be sold by now.
So dangerous to comment without seeing any car in the flesh IMO.
For the record I am still interested but comments below may prove to have raised sellers expectations if so then I am out!!!

I think that your comments above have some truth, but I disagree re the lack of options and price.
Right now the lack of options may hinder resale but not price. It may take longer to sell but I dont think its worth less. The problem arises when no interest arises, they lower the price, no interest still, they become desperate to sell so lower even further. It only takes a few desperate to sell people to destroy the value in a prestige marque such as a CSL. Patience is key.
I feel in the future an optionless CSL will be worth more. A true CSL so to speak, if one exists.
After all the whole ethos surrounding the CSL, was stripped out lightweight thoroughbred race car type. A true enthusiast will pay premium for a true csl;)
ps I'm biased, as my csl is optionless;)

I agree to some extent with Shane ^^
I think that an 'optionless' car will for the most part always be valued at less than the equivalent, same mileage, optioned car - by most buyers. That's the main consequence of owning a no-options CSL when it comes to selling - the potential buyer customer base is considerably smaller than that of someone selling a fully optioned CSL. Most buyers expect creature comforts these days - even on a purists car like the CSL.
I was like most buyers when i was looking for my CSL and used it daily at first enjoying the extras that the car has. Now i only use it for track days and Ring trips and i can honestly say that i wouldn't miss any option except perhaps aircon. I would be very interested in that car if i was a new buyer now...

As above, optionless have been perceived to be worth less but in the future will be perceived less so
I believe there is a Market for them at the same price as those with extras but as Shane said, less buyers.
Any decent condition CSL at 16k miles ought to be £35k plus as asking price.

I said that Shim ;)
I think a nice 16k miles CSL a year or two ago (with options) would fetch £35k plus - not now. Of course there's always someone out there who will be more than happy to pay over the odds for anything if they want it enough - the seller just has to be patient for them to appear.
I'm just as keen as anyone to keep CSL prices strong but at the end of the day they are simply cars and most buyers wont be prepared to pay much over the odds for a CSL when comparing with similar albeit higher mileage CSLs. The E46 CSL has no racing pedigree to fall back on unlike earlier M cars such as the E30 M3 Evo Sport and the original E9 CSL.
All IMHO of course...

Hi mate, did your 16.5k mile CSL have its running in service done at the right time,as this could change the whole thread on your car.;)
The first 1200 mile check was done at 462 miles.
The next oil service 11-04-07 @ 10505 miles
Brake fluid 29-11-05 @ 1623 miles
2nd..........04-04-06 @ 2038 miles
missed one due 04-2008 and now due again as every two years BUT it has had new discs & calipers under warrenty so would have been done then but not stamped book.
the mileage is genuine the car has the usual little bits and pieces that need doing i.e. few stone chips to bumper (mainly cosmetic things) but other than that is in good condition.
Having actually seen the car it is in fair condition and a good detail would give it a shine but there is paintwork reqd and 5 or so dents to remove. It is certainly no better for its low miles as may have been expected.
The servicing and paint / other 'bits' to replace etc along with no options is why I believe the price asked is a little too high but as said below spend £3-5k and get the car back to split mint and yes someone may then pay £33k or so.
It does make Nick Johnsons 17k miler with extras & warrenty seem a better buy @ £34k on paper but has anyone seen / know about this one??

Unfortunately I think new buyer's all have the same mind set, if it's got a BBK and other upgrade's it's possibly lead a hard life on track...
That's what I thought personally and I didn't want that, so went for a 1 owner, low mileage, optioned totally stock car, I'm very happy that I can feel the benefit of anything I do to it now though so it doesn't worry me at all
