Beat me to it, as I have been on the search for one and after chatting to the boys at Brands the Clarke (1.25t) (http://www.tool-net.co.uk/p-345738/clarke-ctj1250a-1-tonne-aluminium-trolley-jack.html) comes out favorite. I have however seen the Arcan (1.8t) (http://www.tjgraphics.net/TVR/TrolleyJack_Images/Trolleyjack01.jpg) at Costco which im after but yet to find someone who is close to a Costco with an account.

Came across this little puppy too last week, which looks interesting. Plugs into exhaust tip and takes upto 3 tonne! Goes up in 0.2s with a SS! Lightweight Solutions!

I was looking at the 1.25t Clarke too but was a bit curious as to the SWL. It seems 1.25 is plenty though aye? I've got a Halfords 2t job but its too bloody high and one of these days I'm going to end up damaging the bodywork...
group buy anyone? :hahaha:

Mine is a 'Sealey RJA1500' 1.5ton low entry jack with twin piston 'rocket lift' for quick raising.
I was recommended that I get the 1.5ton version as I have heard that that 1.25ton jacks can blow their seals with cars of the M3 weight.

The smallest jacks I have start at 25 tonnes mate !! up to 100 tonnes.
I would go 1.5 tonnes, as a rule, I try and only use 80% of capacity, always leave a bit in reserve, and seals prob last longer spending less time at max load.

Alex, I have used airbags before to prop up bridges when taking heavy loads across them, and If you arent careful, that fooker will inflate and flip your car right over !! :hahaha:
Seriously though, they are good, but you must be careful not to split them or cut them on any sharp edges to u/side of car, and don't think that by being an airbag that they cant cause damage if wrongly positioned as in the case of a trolley jack
