Hi,
I recently bought kw clubsport for my car and plan to fit in next few weeks. I'm looking for recommendations for geometry ride height and suspension setup. The car will be used on the road and track hoping that I can get the best on road and track with the adjustment available.
Thanks Derek

Hi shimmy it comes with adjustable top mounts was originally going to put only the mounts on but as it would need to be setup again decided to replace the suspension

Who you planning to use to install and Geo Derek? Any BMW specialist should be able to advise you on optimum set up & ride height for road/ track.
Ride height can be down to choice, some keeping OEM height, but IMO recommend dropping a little, at least 20mm. What are the spring rates with the kit?

Im running the clubsport Derek, as are Rob, and Daz.
My settings are -3.5 front camber. slight toe out front
-2.5 rear camber. v slight toe in rear.
I dont use mine much on road, so calm the camber down for your settings and more neutral toe settings.
Whoever you get to do it, use the outer camber settings on the turrets for -2.5* and neutral toe. Then when you get to track slacken the 13mm on the turrets off, then push your shock fully in, hey presto -3.5* for track, and gives toe out too. When finished on track repeat above but opposite way back to road settings.
But whoever you choose to set up should really know this:thumbs:

happy for you to have copy if my geo settings Inc ride height
I run -2 road and -3 track front camber mainly because I found any more does get hard on road tyre wear
PM me if you want it!

Hi Derek,
I missed this one!
The KW CS kit should come with instructions in the box - albeit potentially in German... :bigcry: The figures should be easy to pick out though.
I or Dazza can obtain the E46 M3 recommended settings from KW UK if you need them?

Derek, Don't listen to all the above, they don't know what they are talking about lol :hahaha::hahaha::hahaha::hahaha: I taught them all they know lol :hahaha::hahaha::hahaha::hahaha:
Sorry I don't know either. lol
Here my pennies worth
Start point :- 1.5 rear & 2.5 front camber the ride height must be at least 330mm from centre of wheel to top of arch otherwise the tyre will hit the plastic liner within the wheel arch. The rear to be the same height or 5 -10mm higher than the front.
The setting they put on the KW instructions are for very smooth Germany roads & track they are shit for our roads so go softer than KW state with slight stiffer rebound setting than the bump. otherwise you will loose traction skip across bumps and pole holes and get understeer.
Any way enjoy

I'm having an alignment done next Saturday so I'm also interested in this.
I was thinking about 0°10' total toe out on the front, and 0°20' total toe in on the rear.
Does the front setting sound about right, or is it too much? (I know you can get problems on the road if you run too much)

When you say stiffer rebound do you mean adding more control? Ie make the spring extend slower (anti clockwise on the KW)?
Thanks

Soft rebound provides a comfortable ride at low speeds it will have less stability at high speeds ie 100mph +
anti clockwise = softer.
The rebound is easy to adjust as it it the top adjustment position on the KW's

No no no mate.,... surely you mean bumpier than the soft setting ?? :birdman:
so ... are we looking for harder soft rebound ...or softer hard rebound ... or is there just rebound and then soft or hard compression ??? :banghead::banghead:
PS Missus wants to take the early morning ferry on Friday, so catch up with you at the Ring probably mate, will drop my crap off at Ericas and then get on it with you ! ....
