Hi a techy question for all you electronic control geeks  I love you every last one!
I had this at the ring and Mat CSL Nuttbox cleared the codes ( I love you Mat very much but not in a:gayfight:way :hahaha:), I have listed them below. I have been happily motoring without a problem but it has come back and the two lights have come back on (DSC OFF light) is now on, along with the brake light (the one that is red when the hand brake is on but normally goes off when released - mine however goes orange. The only problem with this is the DSC is actually off and it's not just the light on on the dash. Fortunatly, when i was in the car, the weather was good - however it has been lashing down in between times. now I guess this is some kind of ABS switch problem so does anybody know what the codes refer to?

CODES
Pressure sensor 1
Pressure Sensor 2

Stop it U tart :gayfight: you're making me blush :hahaha: :hahaha::hahaha:
Sounds to me like U have at least two ABS sensors down. When they fail the DSC is automatically disabled as it relays on the said sensors to relay info. I think it's time to pop down to BMW main steelers (if you have BMW warranty) or BMW Indy if you don't, to determine via their diagnostics exactly which two ABS sensors are inoperative and get them changed  The car instrument fault code could be a faulty/dirty hand brake contact sensor or something in the display cluster but it's probably linked to the ABS sensors. Does anything change when U release/engage the handbrake ?

i had a similar problem - it's a sensor on the steering wheel column that will have come loose - mine actually stopped showing after i went over a pothole - large thump sorted it out...

Mine is doing the same.

I have replaced the ABS pump with a second hand one from craig (long storey but a good one) just in time to go to the Ring.

However lights staid on (brake light and traction light) but figured it would be ok to drive to Germany.

So I went to several garages in Germany, but it had to be a main dealer who could sink up the different pump. Lights out, test drive sorted.
10 miles down the road lights back on again!!

This has happened several times since, even at Spa, hence my reluctance to drive at any speed in the wet.

Since retunring to the UK the fault code still says ABS pressure sensor!!??

My question is, several mechanics looked at it in Germany before the main dealer and they all pointed toawrds a steering angle sensor!!

This feels like ground hog day, only a bit more costly.

Any advise/experience of similar probelms would be very helpfull.

It's not the ABS sensor or the pump (those rarely fail) ...

It's the DSC Pressure sensor - part No: 34521164458

Very common for this crap sensor to fail multiple times before it stops working.

Thanks for the help.

New sensor on order, hope this rectifies the problem.

I always thought an intermitent problem was weird and there was no reason why it would come and go, a fualty sensor makes sense.

Could also be the wheel speed sensor but assume this would come up in the code.

Have you checked your pad depth? I had the same issue and turned out my front pads were almost metal on metal but that was on a 330i not my CSL.
