Spa can rain anytime due to the microclimate caused by the Ardennes Forest nearby but driest two months for Spa is October and May

I was gonna see my bother this weekend and also book next week.

Shim, I cant see me needing any accomodation mate thx all same, by time Ive left the Christening Sunday night say Northampton at about 7pm? straight to Dover/Folkestone for 9:30 pm, Shuttle at 10:30, Calais Midnight local, Spa at 3 am in morning ! yep they cancelled their Spa date for October, it did seem a bit brave to have two as most of the cars in May were non MLR and Goldtrack and CD have 4 days in October

Craig -did i meet you at the sign on area? Im sure i remember it, kept on seeing your car all day on track, it look fabulous, well prepared!

So here are the highlights!

1. Superb weather Sunday - tuesday (well unbtil we hit Dover on the way home and the heavens opened!

2. Great Company - alexgtt and kev, duncanR, nathan, silverbullet, tankslapper (and their crew), my old man!, dave (puregt)dontdobends, azrael and mark, terryb, edinburghCSL and maybe some more i have temporarily forgotten!

3. superb trackday, no queues at ALL, no booking in queue and no noise test queue, no pit lane queue:supz:

4. Live recovery and i think not ONE red flag all day (big up to Spa-Francorchamps)

Thanks to terryb for giving me a lovely passenger ride in his GT3, and big up to TerryB, DuncanR and my brother for allowing me to rag their cars around the track making it a bit special as i was a passenger this weekend.

I have a voucher for Spa with CD next year so bring on April 2011:beer:

Was a great couple of days. Had my bro-in-law along with me. His first CSL and Spa experience! Very strange having someone else driving my car.

Good to see the crew again, Shim, Shim's Dad (sorry, Bro ;) ), john, azrael and Mark, Terryb, Duncan and son, and everyone else (I've missed). Weather, company, banter, food and drink was brill.:thumbs::beer:
All back in one piece. Just one hell of a cleaning job now! Never seen the CSL so dirty.:smokin:

Believe it or not, the red e36 328i was just running standard Falken 452 road tyres (I expected it to be wet!!!) and the suspension was a bit on the tired side. I believe you spend some time spectating how did it look out on track?

Race Chrono reports several lap times between 3:13 and 3:17, but it was my first time at Spa and I have no idea if thats good or not??

Spa really does warrant an instructor as a few of the corners are ballsy

And then when you realise the speed you can take thru them (ER, B2, Pouhon) then your laptimes will tumble. Id guess a 328 would be doing well if hitting 3.05-10

going by Tommy at Donny who used to know out 1m 28 against CSL at about 1m 22 id say at Spa decent CSL time of 2m 57 against 328 time of 3m 10 max

Its GOTTA be faster than my bruvs 1.6 Caterham Academy car, its running road rubber that lasts a whole years racing!

think its 1.6 zetec with realy basic set ups and rubbish tyres

9 laps is not many to time. best thing craig is to get soemone to sit in with you to check the lines and give you some confidence and then sit in with someone else

Good seeing everyone at both Spa and Silverstone, my body and mind are completely dead today, whole new level of respect to the drivers out there the concentration was draining. I now never lift when coming off, just try to ease off a little or just keep foot pinned. Ask Alex:hahaha:

I was explaining to my bruv at B2 you have to turn in from wide right and turn with power on and look long toward the bus stop. If you turn in too early and/or are hesitant with the power or lift you will run wide. In the wet it's suicide as the astro is like ice. In the dry it's not too bad BUT you must not try to turn it in harder or you will spin into left or right concrete Walls.

If you however open up the steering and turning circle you can run across the asto and use the tarmac run off (similar to Pouhon)
