Hello all, I've been lurking for a few weeks trying to get a feel for what's what with the CSL.
I'm in love with the car, having viewed the one at Munich Legends, i'm drawn to black ones (as controversial as that might be!), but i'm learning that it's probably best not to be too set on one colour given the lack of cars around for sale!
I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this car - http://pistonheads.com/sales/1733616.htm .
It looks pretty well-priced for a relatively low-mileage car, which the seller says is in good nick (of course!). Has anyone had a look at this, and do you have any thoughts?
Everyone i've emailed has been incredibly helpful, which just makes me want a CSL even more!

I am pretty sure this was up for sale 2-3 months ago when I was looking for mine - too far away from me though. It looks good from the advert. One minor point is that I don't think the monthly warranty is transferrable - ie.. you'd have to take out a new one yourself.

Welcome ATLAET
That seems a good car - one of the more expensive private sale prices though.
Welcome! Good luck with finding a suitable CSL

Funny, I was looking at this one last night just out of curiousity. Yes, seems like one of the more expensive ones but it could be because of the mint condition, I don't blame the seller.
Good luck with the hunt, I don't have any info on this car though however.

Thanks everyone for the welcome, very kind of you all.
I'm hoping to track it, but it'll be used mostly on the road, with probably one or two trackdays a year. I've got very few petrolhead friends, but am hoping to get out to the ring and spa when i've got used to the car.
It's so hard staying rational when looking at the cars! It's total agony knowing that there are cars for sale and there isn't yet one outside my place...
Sorry to continue to be a leech, but does anyone know the history of the car up for sale at Parva? I read, and can't remember where, that the car belongs to the owner of the dealership.

That one at Parva looks like a belter, but I don't have any details on it. I don't know who the car belongs/belonged too. Best of luck either way!

The Parva one has also been for sale for at least 3 months. I think the price has reduced slightly in that time.

I carried on with the previous owners warranty, obviously with name change and card details, I would recommend same to anyone, especially the monthly plan !

I could not get to the car through the link although the BMW warranty is transferable. If it is an aftermarket one then I do not know. The car must be fairly new to Munich Legends as I was there in April and they had a sold SG one in the showroom and asked if I wanted to sell mine as low mileage ones were in short supply. It was the only one there at the time, unless it was out back. Perhaps it has been re-advertised.
Just looked at ML and it is SOLD!

It's a shame that the ML car sold, but it seemed like a good one, so no real surprise.
Parva emailed a pretty short reply to the monster email I sent them, which was the final nail in the coffin to me taking a day off work to get to Chepstow to see the car.
I've emailed, but not heard from the lady selling this car - does anyone know her (Rachael Meakins?)? http://pistonheads.com/sales/1714767.htm It sounds like it might be a great one, but equally it might be a dog I suppose.
Continuing to be a horrible freeloader of the brains trust here, does anyone know http://pistonheads.com/sales/1711315.htm . This car's up at Nick Johnson, who I know has a mixed reputation, but i'd appreciate (hugely!) a PM if anyone has any thoughts they don't want to make public.
I hope that you don't mind me picking your collective knowledge, I hope that I can repay the favour when I own one (and thus hopefully know something!)

Me again, more tedious questions....
I've had a look at a car that looks great, but has a gap from 6/2007 until 2/2010 in servicing. Do you think that this alone will prevent me putting a BMW warranty back on the car - given that all SH is present and correct other than this more-than-2yr gap?
I understand that bmw will let you put a warranty on and then might quibble when you're claiming if there's a more than 2yr gap, but does anyone have an opinion on what to expect??

I wanted to update you all as I've now bought a csl. It's SG, 32k miles, all options, and I've been driving it too much to take photos.
Few questions now I've got one:
do BMW replace tarnished sill plates under warranty?
What's the view on immediately booking your car in for a checkover once the month's grace is over? I have a feelin that if I bring the car in to a dealer after the month where you cannot make a claim, the warranty co (BMW insured) might tell me to keep moving. Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't think there's anything big wrong, but if there is I don't want to be accused of putting a warranty on to get it fixed!
Where's the best place to get tyres fitted in west London?
Any recommended mot garages in London?
Finally, how do I identify which bolt kit I need to get to fit new discs on the AP racing setup the car has on the front and rear?
Is there any way to cure the car of the juddering I get when braking hard, or is it new brakes time?
Thanks for all of your help, the previous owner was fanatical, and I can feel myself heading that way!

The warranty doesn't cover "pre-existing faults" - presumably faults that existed at the time you took out the warranty. To be on the safe side, I'd leave it a bit more than a month, and/or make sure you've done at least a couple of K miles beyond whatever mileage you told them was on the car when you took out the warranty - then at least you can argue that the fault has developed over that mileage.
If you arrive at your dealer on a towtruck one month after taking out the warranty with a trashed engine and 0 miles since, they will definitely tell you to :birdman: I think.
