Got home midnight last night after a detour via Brussels for some chocolate and beer solutions (and dinner) with TMAQ.

Such an amazing weekend - the weather (although wasn't ideal) didn't affect how much fun was had

Glad I managed to get a (half) place at Spa - although for the wrong reasons :bigcry::bigcry:

My co-driver took loads of pics of a lot of you that he'll get uploaded in the next few days.

Great to meet even more faces over the weekend, and here's to the next one

Here here  an epic weekend has been had, brim full of SOLUTIONS
I got home @ 11 pm after CSL/Z4M Convoy Solutions with Flatout & Shimmy, with some Tunnel Solutions  thrown in for good measure.

Great we could share the place @ Spa, me being the other half ticket holder  Sorry for the small diversion we had on my fifth lap ever @ Spa, which was instantly rectified by semi slick Tyre Solutions for the short but ever so sweet dry spell we had mid afternoon.

Cant wait for Picture Solutions from Andrew :smt041:smt041:smt041

Some talentless mong lost control of his evo at la source and t boned someone as they were leaving the pits minding their own business.

Yeah... that was TOTALLY MINDLESS ... the poor, totally innocent German guy got his E46 M3 badly damaged after 30 minute wait in the pits and less then 10 seconds on the track he got whipped out by the UK Evo Numpty who was trying, badly I may add, to show boat. A friend of mine has the whole accident on Video, from start to finish, which very clearly shows how & why.

AlexGTT was VERY lucky as he was the car in front of the German M3 as they pulled out of the pits.

1000% agree with Rich - epic weekend guys...

Good company, driving, banter, steaks and booze...good to put faces to names/usernames.

Big thanks to Terryb, Shimmy and Rich for the pax laps blagged / advice on line etc :thumbs:....it was extremely useful and helped me out massively (don't think I missed anyone !) and all others for advice in the garage at Spa  ....very helpful for the new boy...

Apologies again to David...but lets not go there again :hahaha::hahaha:

btw - if anyone did catch a picture of me on track can you pls PM it to me prior to posting so I can photoshop it to show at least a slight blur in the background

I have some pics that I'll post up but they're not all that....Bealo, have got a few seconds of shakey vid footage (compact camera) of you in Darth Vader, on it down the pit straight and around La Source. Let me know if you want it (zorst sounds good ;))

and finally Bounce, when in Rome.....

Bounce at Breakfast on day 1 : So, do you do a Full English ?

Sabines sister ?? (in deadpan voice): Full English ? NEIN, you are in Germany now !!!! :hahaha::hahaha: :hahaha::hahaha:

Got the bug...got 4 more CCI insured track days to use this year, so will start picking off the UK tracks...

Cheers boys :beer::beer: :beer:

Great to meet all of you guys. As said, what a bloody epic weekend!!!! Saturday night was seriously messy. Too much beer, wine, dodgy nightclub but a right laugh. Once my headache had cleared on Saturday morning the general vibe around the Ring was fantastic. Petrolhead nirvana and everyone so friendly. I was crap around the Ring and didn't really enjoy it as I was just too wary after all the stories and incidents. Managed to get a couple of passenger laps in a 996GT3RS and a CSL with a couple of guys from Pure GT who were pretty quick which was awesome.

The convoy to SPA was rather interesting to say the least, especially having to lead the pack and not getting my Tom Tom right. Had Terry in his 996 GT3 Manthey and Woppum in his 997 GT3RS all over my backside. SPA was a bit of a mixed bag for me. Didn't feel confident while the track was wet so first couple of times out I was a bit of a pussy but the last 2 sessions out were much better and when the track was dry I was starting to get to grips with it. What a fantastic place though, the scenery, the aura of the track. I can now always say I have driven the SPA circuit. I then went out with Terryb for a few laps. That GT3 really does motor. We had a brilliant dice with a std black 996 GT3 in front of us. Terry was clearly faster but this guy was on it and was not going to let him past. So, we dived down the inside of him after start finish but ended up overshooting and he was back in front again. Was a right giggle.

Left the track at 4.15pm just as the rain started again and hit the Eurotunnel at 7.30pm but earliest train was 21.06. Ended up seeing a few of you guys turn up at around 8.30, Yanto and a few others. Got home at 10.30pm and am pretty shattered at work today.

Excellent weekend guys, a real unforgettable experience.

And he is American not German so his thoughts on the matter were quite clear to both T$ and I , who went over for a chat with him, unaware that he was a mate of yours Nath, ...felt for him,:bigcry: I would have resorted to my old Banger Racing solutions I fear if it had of been me, and T-boned his (EVO twat) ... Should've seen the twat at the Eurotunnel. Biq queue to get through passport control and he jumps the queue leaving the car park with no regard for anyone else. Someone should've jumped out and smashed the other side of his front end. Total cock. :banghead:

I have just been glancing at the MLR forum, very quiet, and some of them were even saying how great the organisation was at Spa ! ... the only greats at Spa were the track when dry,the CSL's and their pilots , the Porky owning mates we have amongst us, oh and not forgetting those tricked up Fords !! ... oh yeah ...and my driving !!:supz:

As soon as I get it I'll let U know. It was a friend of AlexK who filmed the whole accident and he said he'll be happy to share it. It was also offered to the M3 owner on the day.
We watch it straight after the accident and as far we could make out the EVO Num Nuts came in too hot into the first bend after pit straight, off line & on the wet side of the track, then tryed to show boat, drift, whatever (you could hear his turbo boosing on & off mid corner :clown: ) then the whole car stepped out of control (so much for AWD ) what a :clown: and ... well, U know the rest :banghead:
The worst bit off all though was he had NO balls or brains what so ever to come over to the M3 driver and apologise :clown:

I wonder what S**T he's posting to excuse himself. Why don't you link it onto here  we could all do with a good laugh :hahaha: at his expense.

Thats why you ended up all alone ! ... assuming that Sam managed to loose you somewhere !:hahaha:

My heart goes out to the chap in the M3.

Read a few posts on the MLR regarding being prepared to get your car damaged if you take it to track days but funny enough I don't have the same train of thought. That's the kind of chaps you would like to stay well clear off on any TD's!

The number of cars on the track was really good. Though far too many paying cars and the 15min queues were really annoying.

I have to say that compared to other track days at Spa, they were fewer accidents. The fact that 95% of the cars were slow could explain explain it.

The accident was silly and it happened mainly to inexperience, both on car control and prudence. But these things happen.

Just been watching my vids, I sneaked down the inside of you under braking on the start finish straight, sorry if I startled you:whistle: It was a tad naughty of me. Oops.

Great weekend, much merriment and a top crowd, plenty of solutions and even man training! (On track I might add)

I think there was a brief spot of driving, but just a distant memory. Weather was shite and oilspills galore (BP Sponsored?) so that put a downer on things. MLR Day was sold to too many people, I'd rather have paid more for less cars, although I would have expected less cars for the same money. The Noise testing/queueing was a massive pain in the arse. Still Spa in the dry was mega!

Great to meet so many more peeps. Up for another venture out, Dazza mentioned beginning of August. Ringing & Beerings!

As for the Evo, I think the general consensus is the guy had been showboating, and had spun several times (Not seen by my own eyes tho) Does sound to me like he took the corner wide and accelerated whislt on the rumblestrip (not showboating, would have powered earlier) Have had my car spit me out whilst going in a straight line before (Traction off... ahem) fortunately ended up pointing the right way and carried on. Gutted for the M3 driver, all that queueing for 10 seconds on track with car not driveable. Anyone know if he got it going.

Much Luv

Word of warning to all though ...

French and Belgium police have started working together, if you get zapped speeding in either country by hidden mobiles or seen speeding over 100, they now have a full operation at calais, list of offending plates, your passport and cars will be impounded with hefty fines to get cars back or possible ban solutions , 6 lads in VX220'S behind me, rob and bealo were done and it wasn't looking good, some very glum faces, so be careful out there ;)

Slightly off topic and I know that there was a long post about this on the old MTorque site but how many attendees wore helmets and if so which are recommended. I am not keen on wearing a helmet despite the 'obvious' but may have to indulge in some track days in the UK where I believe it is obligatory.

I was looking at the Bell helmets. Any help appreciated.

Many many thanks to Alexk and his friend for staying with me and getting it sorted. Only cosmetic damage and already been sorted by the insurance.:smokin:New bumper solutions!!

Bike helmets are designed to have one impact and then be good at resisting abrasion, car helmets are more designed for multiple hits so if you're buying a helmet that you are only going to use in a car I'd get a car one IMO.

Yeah sorry, didn't mean to but thought it was worth mentioning. Any of the big brands are fine but all are shaped differently, most people I know have either an Arai head or a inn Arai head so try them on. We use MSAR in London, Malcolm is a great guy or have a made to measure from Stand21 but that ain't cheap.

I bought from GP Direct at Silverstone - a brand called Zamp, which (I believe) is a US firm that are rebranded Bell helmets. They had bought a load in from the US and were selling for £150 a pop.... Wasnt advertised on their website, they just happened to have some in stock when I was there recently.
