With fuel prices now at a frankly astronomic level (£1.30 a litre for Super in London) i've been giving it some thought.

I've always put Super in the CSL and in my Audi beforehand. Does everyone else put Super in? Does it make a difference?

is the difference is only about 8 to 10p a litre, which is about £6 on a tank it's small beer really!

£75 a tank is smarting a little now though, especially as i only seem to be getting 200 odd miles from a tank around town.:bigcry:

I always fill up with Shell Optimax as much as poss - find car has better throttle response and runs smoother... BP ultra is BP ultra rip off

I find now the Tesco 99 is closer to the price of 95 than ever so more reason not to use Regular

:hahaha:

Use the 99 Octane stuff from tescos and or shell V power as it does feel slightly crisper all round..

Have a few times, madness really but wanted to try it... used the the BP ultimate 102 unleaded .. rocket fuel.. fooking expensive and only available at 12 or so BP places, there is one in egham near maranello's ... did make it feel like the sport button was on all the time without it being on, only downside is that it's 2.47 per litre:119:

I've had the same thought's Johnny but as you say when it boils down to it it's only the difference of a couple of pints, for the sake of it I'll keep using the V-Power, I find I get about another 30 miles to a tank on that over lower octane petrol on a run anyway so it's swings and roundabouts! :)

I prefer V-Power, but there do seem to be more BP garages where i go than Shell sadly.

£2.47 a litre is crazy. Fooook me, that's £150 for a normal fill up!

Dan - you have to actually drive your car to use fuel and subsequently worry about fuel prices! :hahaha:

I use V-Power and Tesco 99,its false economy to use 95 octain as your car wont run as well, but also you will get less miles to the gallon. ;)

I don't understand why Shell does not sell 100 octane fuel here instead, we have 102 BP @ £2.5 per litre!!

I've used it a bit more lately, especially what with doing Silverstone a fortnight ago! :bigcry:
