There seem to be fewer and fewer for sale nowadays. What you looking for, what's your budget?

Hi Troops, just wondering if anyone knew where is best to look for CSL's for sale apart from Pistonheads and Autotrader?Try Nick johnsons site or main dealers, private owner on here is your best bet, athough i got mine from a garage.Try to get one with a fbmwsh, then you can have the bmw warranty even if it has lapsed, which i think most on here will agree is a must.Piston heads does have the largest selection.

They are becoming harder to find. My 26K SG took 6 months to find having looked at lots of crap.
You may have competition. One of my pals is after one, spurred on by The Times write-up about the CSL being an investment.
Best

ere, ere, I'll second that. This makes the CSL one of the best and good value cars around. Particularly when so few built.
Happy car hunting

Fancy seeing you around here John, get a black one, you already had a SG M3, plus from general consensus on this site black is the faster one.

Here is an examaple of what "might" happen
Porsche produced 1580 911 RS Carrera Cars in 1973 which were faster and lighter than std production models. Lots were tracked. They had less equipment and cost more. They didn't make them for the Americans. (all sounding familair)
For years not much was thought of them as they were only race cars after all.
Then slowly but surely they became popular again as people realised what they were and desired one...but many had been changed/slaughtered or destroyed.
So up went the prices and up and up and up went the prices.
I owned 2 over that time frame one cost me $70kUS in 2001 and sold for $165US in 2004 and then next one cost me $275kUS in 2007 and at the height of our recent financial troubles still sold for $295kUS
Sure its has taken 37 years but the price of a very good RS Carrera is now 15 times its original cost a bad one is still 7 - 10 times the original price.
Just wait and see. I firmly believe this car will turn out to be similar down the track...maybe it doesn't have the race record the RS cars did at the time nor will the rate of growth be as great ....but I still think in time prices will escalate to well above original price.

I agree, mine is a keeper, 27k miles, garaged and only used as a toy now. I only used 5 or 6 times last year which is a shame, but hopefully I'll still be playing in it in 30 years time?
Not sure that they will mirror the 1973 RS, since the CSL has already earned itself a collectable status quite early in it's life relative to the RS. The CSL will still be considered a fast car in the future, and I think good examples will always fetch good money.
All you people using them everyday and racking up the mileage are doing us a favour - keep up the good work............in fact.....I might buy another one and wear it out.........

Duncan, how is your engine rebuild going.
Just called them for latest update, BMW in da Fatherland wanted more pictures, as quality wasnt good on first ones, something to do with how they erased the roll cage,Intrax, and BBK out.
May hear back later today, if they say go, "A" @ "M" reckons it will be done by Wednesday !
