Mine is build date June 2003 I think Matt, don't know when it was registered though? It's on a '53 plate as you know :)
I'll have to have a look at my Chassis number and see what it ends in, see how far away it is from yours as it could be an early car too!?
Going on this thread and if what Duncan says is accuarate and the correct way of telling then it would be nice to compile a list to see how many genuine CSL's we have on the forum out of the original UK 422!

V5 or the small window in your windshield will revel the important chassis details. It'll most certainly be JC98*** ;)
Yep, agree with compiling a list as it would be interesting to see if 001 is still with us and about + that Top Gear BMW Press Office car must be in the low 10's  ... time to deploy Shimmy me think

I know my car was built on the 2 Dec 2003. Your dealer can give you similar info and a full spec sheet of your car as it originally left the factory.
My car originally left the factory with those horrid 'bling' chrome 19" M3 wheels. Thankfully the second owner sorted that out with CSL items.

Probably the 'M' logo on the instrument cluster & at a guess the lighter weight CSL 12V battery? Maybe...! :smt102

First of all CSL started with JB98... and changed to JC98.....
So my one is a JB98021, what means it a realy early one. 06.05.2003
I have the option 902 what means press-car.
They didn't give a slow one to the press, if you know what i mean.

We should think about kind of book about all the CSL's.
I've had one for my Z1. The book showed every single car, production date, options and what country it was going to.

That can't be right as mine was built December 03 but has chassis number ending in 383Thats about right then, being December is the last month BMW built CSLs.;),but i have heard of CSL owners phoning BMW about build numbers and codes and getting no where,BMW say the CSL wasn,t numbered and cars were taken on and off the production line which buggerd the vin codes up.
