View Full Version : Anyone have any info on MJ53 CZD...
Afternoon chaps,
Thought I'd say hi and introduce myself, I am in the process of buying this SG CSL and was just wondering if anyone had any info on the car, previous owners etc. Any help would be much appreciated.
Cue the "remember when it hit the wall at Spa" jokes......:hahaha:
What great cars though and I might as well apologise for all the stupid questions I am going to ask over the next couple of months:thumbs:

This is the car in question, any opinions? fair price?

Seems like a good 'un, my only concern was one of the rear lights was discoloured, at first, thought the car had a rear panel but could find no evidence of repair. Does water get into the rear lights?
jibm, from Kingston Upon Thames fella, where abouts are you?
PS grumps, agree with you mate, black is so last year ...:hahaha:

Well done that man  When I bought my SG CSL back in September 2009 with 68K on the clock and F.BMW S.H., the BMW Warranty cost at the time was £1188 for Named Components cover with £250 excess, which I believe is mandatory once the car passes the 60K miles barrier. Luckily for me there was 11 months of warranty left, all paid for by the previous owner (THANX Jeff  ) You can always call BMW Insurance Warranty on: 0871 200 0199 and ask them how much the renewal it's going to be in 6 months time, when your current policy expires.
When's the BIG collection day ???

Looks like it pays to be on a monthly direct debit as they avoid the increase bizarrely. :smt102

You could always get just drive line warranty from BMW,which covers engine and gear box and is quite a bit cheaper.;)

Once mine has gone through it's Inspection II which should be this year I won't be paying £1k+ for Warranty again, might just keep it on the Driveline one with an excess like you say...
CSL on ebay looks good though with some nice choice mods

Driveline has a max claim of £5K though.... not sure that would cover an engine.

Nope! I think that it's around the region of £15k. Site Admin 'mark csl' had a new engine under warranty

No... outnumbered is right G-dog :bigcry: ... I dug out my Policy Handbook, it says under the Driveline Component Cover and I quote... " The maximum total claims liability cover by the BMW Insurance Warranty Driveline Component Cover is £5000, inclusive of VAT " which is even worst news as BMW quote all prices + VAT so in reality it's £4255.32 + VAT :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

I'm always right :smokin:
Also "Named Component" has a maximum payout up to the value of the car (or the price paid for it, don't remember exactly).

Same as the Comprehensive Component Cover  ( ... purchased price paid for the insured vehicle, inclusive of VAT ) So if you've paid less then £25K for your CSL, does that mean U don't get a replacement engine (which I think is about £25K ) should the worst happen ?
