Had a little search, but im rubbish and impatient and could'nt find either of the things I wanted :hahaha:
So removing dash inserts ( silver bit ) this weekend, to carbon vinyl to match mirrors
How the fook do you get them of without snapping please :smt055
And the bottom carbon flipperrooneys, how do they come off, tools needed.. so I dont bugger them :smt055
Thank you in advance http://forum.thescubasite.com/love/love0072.gif (http://www.thescubasite.com)
you can just pull them off with your fingers. in the picture you can make out where the clips are (metal bits, sticking out).
if you need to use a flat screwdriver to lift the edge away make sure the end is covered with a tea towel or something equivalent so you dont mark the trim.
i'm sure someone will give you a more comprehensive guide, if you need it
And the bottom carbon flipperrooneys
mate what the F is a carbon flipperrooney, do i want one? :hahaha:

Daz, I got a set of plastic trim removal tools for just that, if you want me to check in the garage to confirm I still have them then you are welcome to pop round and borrow them. You start from the passenger door side and work your way along.

Just been out to check, found 4 pieces, no idea how many came in the set :)
Basically a bunch of plastic crowbars with different shapes to allow you to lever stuff out without scratching things.
Not WFH myself tomorrow but could take them to work if you wanted to collect in the day? I only work in Thames Valley Park so easy enough for you.

Will see how long they take this arvo, and get him to post up and PM you lot later
The vinyl he has is not the same as the roof, it actually looks better TBH, and has a texture to it like carbon, tempted to do the roof, but no fookin point :hahaha:
So dont think there is a vinyl that is a rep of the roof... can do any colour etc .. just deciding on a matt grey full wrap at the mo aka this colour

ive been trying to avoid reading this thread as i know what would happen so here goes
taking a car that was made to show case light CF additions over the standard M3, we (well Daz) now wants to buy cheap sticky back plastic and pretend more of his car is CF - even though it is not.
now if you have an M3 and cant afford CF bits i can see this being attractive BUT why on earth if you have CF bumper. splitters, door panels, roof would you want to go out and stick plastic over the dash:smokin:
discuss!

I have to agree with Shimmy.
Shame to put on the CSL splitters carbon fiber STICKER.
No comment as well about the interior bits.
You could consider covering the roof as well.... for protection :banghead:

Dont really give a ... about what weave of carbon it is, or if its a cover or not.. ... did the mirrors as bored got carried away, splitters are always fooked as I use it hard all year round so makes sense .. thought id try the interior .. so there goes.. sorry ive offended you all... will try harder to comply with normality and blend in  :smokin:

Right now then, project go bananas ... as everyone seems to dislike, I may just have to wrap everything in sight, no doubt will make me tenth of a second slower due to the sticky back plastic, but there goes.
Actually just had a thought, might remove it all, and replace with wood effect

Im with you Daz, I reckon it looks good, but you need steering wheel trim done to match:whistle:,
the reason the shit on the csl is in carbon is mainly for lightness and a bit of aesthetics. So blending in is not an issue with me.
I think you should wrap the whole car in wood effect, and bring some pledge wood polish, that would look funny in the pits.
i like it Daz!

Why go for solid wood? Save some money and look at MDF!
Why, why oh why - black windows, chrome wheels, furry dice, neon under lights, spinners on the wheels, 'My other car is a Porsche'/'Baby on board' signs, it is all "different" but somehow just WRONG. :bigcry:
Crack on it is a free country.
