I don't remember this happening at all and neither does the wife :o

The main chip mark is right under the wiper on the passenger side so it must have been a supremely arc'd shot or when the wipers were on.

Anyway, is there anything special about the front screen; either with the screen itself or the fitting of it?

Cheers.

probabaly chipped earlier then cracked during the night as temps dropped

as far as i remember the only questions wer:

has it got a green top band (not usre if this is relevant to CSL)
have you got rain sensing wipers

i couldnt remember the answer to either at the time!

Also... Comfort screen ? or regular screen ? ... with "Rain sensor" or standard screen, without. I think green band is standard

Yep, as Shimmy says but they also should ask if it is a climate comfort screen.

As per the linked thread, my (cc with green band and rain sensors) windsreen was replaced a few weeks ago. Went with the aftermarket item by Pilkington and I can confirm it's identical to the one that came out minus the BMW logo. Just £70 excess via insurance, as opposed to the near £300 + fitting the oe would if cost. National windscreens took care of it and did a fantastic job, so all in all I was happy.
