Yep looking forward to it mate, have just been out and sorted the tyre pressure;s on the Cups after getting them fitted up, filled up on V-Power and just printed my stuff from Brands so pretty much ready to go! :thumbs:

Saw my life flash before me tonight lads - on the pit lane wall as a Merc CL600 ? lost it on the pit straight at speed (blown tyre) and was heading straight towards me (OK, there was concrete and fencing between us)....I was like a rabbit in the headlights :hahaha:.....Fortunately he caught it in time before actually hitting the wall and pulled it back onto the track and then the opposite site verge...

Lots of rubbery smell.........

Good to meet some of you tonight, really enjoyed the track evening, apologies for anyone I didn't meet. Also gutted I couldn't make a beer afterwards as we had a babysitter for the evening that needed us back. First proper trackday in the CSL as my other one was too wet with brakes that didnt work and loved it, car felt great, started off pretty slow but got quicker at the end once I got the confidence and found my way round the track

Merc belonged to a friend or a friend, and the only damage was a knackered rim after a blow out on the straight. Very lucky!

Nice to see you all, I did see you Yanto.......Getting out of Matts car before he passed the Marshalls, I did wonder what that was all about. Great to get on Brands with the cups and better fluid. I saw what was left after the Merc got very sideways, the way he was driving I'm amazed he caught it. I had a very luck escape myself wth the silver TVR losing it coming through paddock hill bend as we were side by side, very strange looking at the driver 2-3feet away while he got all crossed up and the proceeded to go backwards!! Glad he didn't catch had he done that I would have had very expensive TVR flip paint all over the side of my lovely silver grey!!
A big shame the the session was so mared with numpty drivers, late starts and chequered flags.
I'll get the video up as soon as I get it back from Mole and cut it down to size for you tube

I must admit I have mixed feelings about how the event was organised.. was it opl or. sessioned - didn't seem like the marchells knew either and the less said about some driving standards the better ala 106 doing handbrake turns down paddock bend at over a tone and nearly collecting me in the process...

All in all, managed to get a few good laps in ableit not as many as desired.

Ps. The red flag with 7 minutes to close really fooked the day proper......

Have to agree that the organisation was pretty poor, and it wasn't open pits, it was sessioned. Not only that but when I booked and another guy I know booked we weren't able to book second drivers and there was a message saying you pay for them on the day only and organise that, and we turned up and were told at 4:30 that no further 2nd drivers were allowed as it was fully booked, there should have been a message on the website informing people of that, had it been a full day it would have been more annoying.

That being said, we had a great time still, and towards the end got some great laps in, particularly the last 2 sessions that were quieter too. Shame about it being red flagged right at the end.

As for Brands it's a great little circuit, a few lines are hard to get the hang of having not done it before but was getting there when we got the chance to get some decent laps in!

It is a shame the marshalling and organisation was shite, the first corner of the first lap a marshall had a blue flag out when in the briefing 5 minutes beforehand we were all told they wouldn't use them! :bigcry: :banghead:

Never mind, I definately enjoyed the day (evening) and would do it again, I managed to get a good few sessions in and it was my first track day on Cups too! Once I'd got the tyre pressure's right they were excellent, WAY better than normal PS2's! :smokin: :smokin: Have you got anymore though Shimmy as these are going to be properly dead soon if they arn't already! :hahaha: :supz:

Thanks to Matt for a passenger session, very impressed with his car ;)

The blue flag waiving was really funny. AFter that long chat about not using them and black flagging them, all I could see whilst Q'ing up was the marshall waiving the blue flag non-stop for over a minute so was that to everyone?

Donington used to run their on sessioned days and they were cheap and could be great fun as long as no red flags

the good thing was you always went out with your mates and therefore had a good session on track trying to do each other into Redgate!

but as soon as you get a slow car in your group or red flags they are wank!

One question - did you guys who booked through trackdays.co.uk have a problem with your name not being on the list? 4 of us did (Me, Tino and the 2x Focus RSs) and I'm wondering if perhaps Easytrack was full, and they honoured the people who booked through trackdays.co.uk which made it a bit busier? Just an idea.

In general was a great evening and enjoyed the company more than the OPL organisation, it was a complete balls up! Already said above, so won't go into detail again. Got back just after 12.30 with another fuel stop and damn it hurt this morning getting up early! Was good to get a propa chat after with some great food and beer, :thumbs: (Rich). They have offered me a free place. I have gone back to them to ask if they woul dbe happy to extend this offer to us. I thought I'd try the code first and whilst it removes the cost entirely it leave me with the problem of paying a zero balance through paypal. So I've put a call into easytrack and awaitng a response. when it comes I'll update everybody. Just to ease everybodies worry yes we'll all go and yes it's all be free unless we fill all ten spaces and then we'll have to see. As Mole says sod the ford's :birdman: (oh damn i said it) they're too slooooooow anyway. I suggest we get more CSLs going and fill the track with proper cars.:beer:

Im dropping the glass windows, carbon sheeting the front door cards so will also drop the electric windows as well, all future things tho as the suspension needs doing asap, the body roll in some of the pictures is laughable. Saying that with the cage and extra power it felt much better round brands then before!

Was impressed with the CSL's and surprised I could semi stick with them on some sections...

I think he set a slot limit so we didnt go passing it onto random mates etc, he will check everyone out before processing the freebies anyways :) If its 15 of us on track at once, thats going to be like a pack of wolves over my poor focus :(

He was again appologetic and very sincere. It seems there was a number of mistakes that came together to make it such a bad night, including
Trackdays miscommunicated teh bookings so we were all double booked
marshalls weren't ready for an evening session so they were all on overtime (it wasn't a joke like i thought it was)
Easytrack's original staff were involved in an accident earlier in teh day so the chap we had was a last minute draft
and of course some very bad driving, which to be fair to easytrack is hard to filter
