The result of a woman being in the wrong lane on a roundabout! Decides she wasnt in the right lane, brakes and practically stops when she realises she needs to go all the way around as a result i cant stop behind her and just kiss her bumper! Can this be repaired or is it a new bumper? And what price is a new bumper ?

Ouch :bigcry:Sorry to see this matey, not nice to have happen. Not sure about repairing, but a new one is £2.5k from BMW, complete with new splitters. (Don't think you can buy on their own without all the bits).

FOOOOOOK IT...
Sorry to hear this chap - hope it can be repaired......I think the wait for a new bumper can be a shocker.
Best of luck
sure you can get it repaired but most people would replace, seen a CSL with less damage than that and a new bumper was called for.
at a glace thought this thread was a woman joke.

Mick old chap, that's terrible ... sorry to hear that ..
In answer to your question, yes you will ;)
Mine been done twice now by people who can not park first one looked like an artic had reversed into me :bigcry:
Dazza's (who you got your brakes from) old man, and brother are panel beaters and painters both very good, did mine, but are down south ...
Would of thought any decent painters could sort it, by the looks of it bumper may need to be foam filled like mine then fibre'd over and painted .. wont be as strong as original but still better than 2.5k ;)

Yep, as Daz said, should be repairable. Daz's looked good after it was done (only to be nudged again, hey Daz :banghead: )
Speak to Julian/Ant at Simpson's as well. They make and repair CF panels and have done wonders with damaged CSL bumpers.
hard luck mate, as Alex said try Simpsons motor sport they do an exchange scheme. i had a new one last year on insurance, it comes painted from BMW AG by the time the VAT was added it was nearer 3.5k

as an idea on price from Simpson's - the exchange bumper costs the price of a days labour i'm not sure what their hourly rate is but i guess you can work it out roughly from that.
anyway good luck

Sorry to see that mate, I had a scary moment earlier on today, a Lidl shopping bag with some crap in it flew right up from under the car infront of me and hit the bumper, doesnt look like it was damaged but it had me worried the whole way home.

Hard luck mate - hope you get it sorted.
BTW, Simpson charge £55 + VAT per hour labour - somewhat cheaper than BMW!

i know your pain mate, mine had been back from the body shop after being painted only about a week when some T@*t reversed into it :bigcry: i was in a sandwich shop heard the sound of carbon fibre splitting - very similar to the damaged you have by the look of it.

I'd suggest that people consider a custom ventureshield fit (from Nick Phelps, I'll dig his details out) to protect the front.
This is after I hit the badger at 70 on a dual carridgeway. The bumper was destroyed if you looked at the back (and was replaced with brand new, then re-ventureshielded).

A closer version, the radiators, aircon and others bits were all replaced!

God, what speed did you hit the badger at??
My car is has ventureshield fitted. It is great for everywhere except the flippers at the front.
Stone impacts where the film is damaged by sharp stones, tend to get moisture behind them and bubble which is fooking annoying.

Legal limit, it looks mininal but the front air dam was trashed at the back, only the ventureshield held it together...

OUCH :bigcry: Sorry to hear that mick ... robbing bastards
Not good!
She's not claiming on your insurance then? Even if she is/isn't can't you get it fixed on insurance, premium probably won't go up that much?

Ouch, but that's a good price, I checked my invoice and it was £2500 + VAT, so more like £3000.

nasty, but you need to look on the positive side you can get some dosh back selling the damaged bumper plus the front end of you car will look spanky with new flippers :supz:

It would come Gold Plated but then that would wipe out all the gains by going CF!!;);)

no she never took details so i got off rather quickly, before she rang her husband and no doubt he would have told her to go for whip-cash and everything even though when she got out she apologised for being in the wrong lane. But as everyone knows you run in the back of someone its your fault!

Gutted for you Mick :bigcry:, it was only a short while back were I was saying that your SB CSL was the best one i'd ever seen it really looked superb in the photo's you posted.

Honestly I think your panel shop just can't be bothered repairing it - that bumper's more than repairable (provided the impact bar isn't damaged)
Most shops prefer to just buy new add margin, fit labour and be done with a perfect job, rather than muck around with resin and carbon fibre sheets.
+1 for ventureshield - great product!!
I've not had any issues with it applied to the splitters either - holds up great even with track debris
