This is not the kinda news I want to hear! ha ha Looks like the only times I'm going to see you on track is when your lapping me! This backbox technology you now have...how loud you reckon? Bedford pass or fail? Any booming drone?

Only downside is high rpm motorway cruising, but I dont really class that as a downside. But others who commute might as on long journies it can cause drops in MPG.
I have not tried the ss headers on the csl, but on the M3 I dont think they made any, if very little difference. All my opinion of course, but a few tuners are echoing my thoughts as well.

Nice. Very impressed with it's ability to just about stay with GT3 on the straight and you've gotta love how grippy a well set up CSL is in the corners.:smokin:
Been thinking about a 4.1 diff for sometime now. Might get myself a spare diff and take the plunge this year.

bought mine from Woppum, done very few miles as he didnt get on with it
i have to say that apart from the first 20 yards of the first drive where you do notice hitting the rev limit a bit quicker it has no other downside. I thought with a few saying that they "couldnt get on with the noise", i was expecting a noise similar to the plated diffs but nothing other than normal!!!
I have noticed its has the ability to spin up the wheels quicker
yes i suppose you do have more time at higher revs and i suppose on a motorway run you will be running a little higher in the rev range but CHANGE UP and all is sorted
Silverstone Monday to see how it fairs on track

group buy ?
could be very good value
if you got say 5-10 people you could get ONE new recon diff, fit at Simpsons and the next persons gets the previous diff reconned by Simpsons with new seals etc and primary 4.10 gear.
You should be able to get a really good deal and then sell the diff you have left at the end, all reconned
Nromally costs you £1000 for diff but i reckon you could do it for £500/person

What about a Drexler diff? Ive heard very good things about those. I'm guessing they are ridiculous money too.
How much lower is the top speed with the 4.1 diff then?

ive heard a drexler or plated diff will be noisey, unbearably so
as for top speed who the feck knows-never go that fast anyway, do you?

4.1 = 180 ish or just over.
4.1 = 180 ish or just over.
Christ! Plenty fast enough IMO, I've done 150mph in mine and that was plenty fast enough, most UK tracks don't have the straights to pull much more anyway do they?
_Nathan_

Nope.
As standard it is geared for something silly like 206 in 6th, presumably to make it nice on the motorway, it doesn't stand a chance of getting near that.
Assuming 206 in 6th then 4.1 gives you 182mph.

Alledgedly, you can wind it up to over 170mph down the A509 Newport Pagnell by-pass, but do a slow pass first to establish that Plod isnt sitting in his camera van on the overbridge first ! .... thats only if you were inclined to try such a thing ... personally its not something I would partake of, as its sooooo illegal ! .... just thinking out loud really ... and talking fluent bollox !

Keep up chaps, i've had mine fitted for almost a year now....
All good apart from higher cruising rpm = lower mpg

Nice to see you back Bealo!
Is the MPG difference quite noticeable on the motorway against the standard car?

Just out of interest how does the SMG behave with this mod, have heard a few peeps having probs in auto mode(not that I use it!) and not changing properly in manual mode.
Also does any ecu resetting or mapping need to be done on the car or is it just a simple ratio change?
Any info Shimmy?
Cheers

Got me thinking now, I had a crunch and over-rev to 8436 rpm on a downshift and put it down to gearbox getting too hot, now wondering if it could be down to the software not understanding the safe speed to change down and me doing so too early?

so a bit of a confession - just had the 4.10 diff installed :smt033
previously the diff i had installed was a standard 3.62 diff which i had been told was a 4.10 but they gave me the wrong one
bad news is that makes me a twat!
good news is - I CAN GO FASTER AGAIN!!!!
i double checked GPS speeds with 3.62 and today with the 4.10 and they work out perfectly to the tables provided on the other thread.
on the drive home you def seem to get into 6th much quicker and cruising above 60 you do it in 6th
more feedback later :bigcry:
