I have 28.5k miles (4k in 2.5 years)on the clock. I loved Kev.H 's post and would have been tempted to tell Mr Plod to crack on with their court case. I do not think their excuse at speeding (~130mph) would have constituted sufficient evidence to prosecute you for speeding but I am not a solicitor. Twits.

Looks like I may have the highest mileage here!
It's just turned 75k and is running beautifully with no squeaks or rattles.
This is my second CSL. Sold my last one with 19k .... a big mistake and I have wanted one for the last 3 years. Had the opportunity to try a few cars between (997 Turbo - awesome, M3 V8 DCT- very good, but gutsy, RS6 - awesome and may have another RS6+, Evo X SST - very good, hyper efficient, great gearbox but all too quiet and uninvolving, makes amateur drivers feel like a pro!) Tried a few family buses (X5 Le Mans - good, X5 3.0 SD - felt huge, bloody hard ride, gutsy, better off buying the single turbo, Merc 320 Sport estate AMG with Brabus - absolutely brilliant, great handling, cavernous, looked well and 30 mpg and now a RR Sport 3.0 HSE - very nice car. It has dynamic handling as standard and therefore handles well and the new engine has loads of poke)
So three years went by, daily views of various CSL sites, PHeads Classified and most recently the CSL register.
Had been looking at SL55 around 04 plate but being a two seater they are very restrictive and with two kids, a wife and a wheelchair it would have rarely been used. I then spotted a CSL on Pheads with a mileage that I would not normally have dreamed of buying however the price and specification really got me thinking.
My last CSL was pristine. I adored the car but wanted to keep the mileage low for resale and never took it on track.
Due to a bike accident 12 years ago I now use a wheelchair (decided to give my legs a rest for the next 50 years!) and therefore due to paralysis use hand controls.
The problem I normally find is that after some spirited driving standard brakes begin to fade with a longer pedal travel and as a result my hand control touches the dash. Bit of an issue with a corner in front of you!
The CSL had the same problem.
So when I saw my new CSL advertised with Recaro seats, Harnesses, AP Brakes, KW Sport suspension, Thorney Stage 2 (100 cell cats, centre section, Engine remap) etc I thought wow that sounds perfect as I would be strapped in and the brakes would not fade at all. The seller was a really nice guy and being a trusting chap (or maybe a bloody idiot) i bought the car unseen and had it brought up to me in Edinburgh.
All turned out to be OK and I am delighted with my purchase. It was delivered on Thursday and since then I have been a passenger with three petrolheads taking it for a blast and finally I managed to get my wife to take it for a spin with the kids in the back. She nearly Sh**t herself when it hit 6000 rpm however within 10 minutes absolutely loved the reknown CSL howl.
It is now due a front end respray ( a bit silly I know if I plan to take it on a track but I like my cars to look their best) two new CSL kick plates and my hand controls should be fitted tomorrow.
I really worried myself about buying a high mileage CSL ( normal in an average car) but now don't care at all as it is faultless, drives absolutely beautifully and is now in a very attractive price category for those that do not have £25-30k plus all the add ons you may want to enhance it which mine has them all!
Wow what a long post and hopefully you have not fallen asleep by this point, but my wife is fed up with me talking about the CSL so I thought I would type some car chat on line.
Have a good evening
