Just like to say thanks to Adam and the team at Thorney.
They very kindly sorted out my Alcon's, RS29's while the Castrol SRF came courtesy of Nielsen at £28 per bottle.
The kit was fitted by NCB AutoKraft (midlands based BMW / Motorsport specialist) who took a full day.
I expected an improvement but the transformation is night and day. I knew they would be powerful, but the pedal feel and progressive delivery is outstanding.

Glad to have helped. Brakes are just awesome aren't they, once bedded in I've not found anything to better them, they're even going onto the GT3 car.
I assume these are the Yellow CSL Cup brakes? Sound awesome, pics would be good mate! ;) :smokin:

Mine are the silver Alcon's as per pics below (too wet to get the car out).
They are however exactly the same as the CSL cup brakes.
I actually prefer the silver as they look more OEM. Also it leaves the option to keep them for another vehicle by changing the backing plate.
Having just done 3 days in Wales and got them run-in. They are simply stunning. Also no pad squeaks or any kind of fade.

Brake kit from here. As usual normally a bit of room for maneuver.
http://www.ears.co.uk/motorsport/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Alcon_Brake_Kits_72.html
The quality of the kit is brilliant. Even the brake lines have been correctly handed for where they mount to the body and the caliper. It isn't your usual Goodrich chucked in a box.
Also you can use Castrol SRF unlike AP.

What enables the use of Castrol SRF with this kit?????

Probably different or better materials used for the seals in the calipers I should think :)

You can use SRF in APs too? I have done it many times before - SRF is a DOT4 fluid and is fine, just like DOT5.1 - AP say you can't use DOT5.

Would EARS supply the rear kit as well and at what price, also are these the same as Thorney's 'CSL Cup' brakes?

You could buy some yellow paint and some stickers to make them the same ;)

But underneath the paint they are essentially the same caliper/kit? ;)

I assume so - can't see how it'd make any financial sense to make a special calliper for the CSL cup?

Most probably not :)

CSL Cup kits have different pads, different hoses and different bell mounts. The seals are also universal for both road and race kits. You can have in plan silver if you want, we aren't that bothered:thumbs:

The Alcon logo is recessed. The Thorney 'CSL Cup' caliper is smooth with a sticker.
Anyway, even if you hav'em pink :gayfight:
they stop well! :hahaha:
