Increase from 1st April. £215 increase to £245/ yr. *K

"From April 2010, already registered higher emitting cars will be charged up to £30 more and lower emitting cars will be charged up to £30 less."

I feel for the ones buying New over 255 CO2 (g/km) for the first year. £950 Ouch!

50p a week in the scheme of csl ownership won't bankrupt you, just a shame the money isn't actually spent on the roads!

PS. if you are that bothered get down the postoffice now, cash your tax in and buy a years before it goes up!

It certainly wont break the bank no, but its the principle of doing so. Perhaps they may use it wisely to fill all those black holes in the road, so I dont have to keep buying new wheels & tyres!

My CSL is SORN at present and will only need 6 months anyhoo.

Daylight robbery m8 :ban: . The fact the "Scum-bags" are Retro grading and charging people more money in road tax, for cars that have been on the roads since March 2001 is clear proof that all this CO2 bracketing is completely nothing to do with environmental issues  only the economic ones.
If the M3 CSL was being SOLD today, as a new car, it would incur the £950 first year tax :smt107, as it produces 287 G/km of CO2

I'd prefer it if you were to be honest :)

The roads are all completely fucked since the snow and no sign of anything being done about it.

Hopefully the fallout from UEA will properly kick in and the gov will have to admit it has been lying about the environmental issues with CO2 all along...

Worry not my friend... the clear evidence is already here, supplied by our own government :banghead: through their incompetence and greed DOH! London Congestion charge is very clear proof of the CO2 SCAM :ban: and now the Retro grade road taxing of existing cars . Talk about shooting yourself in the foot :hahaha::hahaha::hahaha:

I'd love to be only paying £245 to tax my M3. Over here, we're charged €1,566 to tax any cars over 3.0 for the year :bigcry:, or €2,000 if based on the new emissions based tax system.

Glad I just got 12 months on mine...mild sense of satisfaction that I avoided the increase

Car tax = SCAM (just like every other tax...lol)

Crikey that's terrible, had heard it was pricey over there but that's a lot..

Have heard similar (or more) for other european countries, maybe we're actually getting off lightly (especially with the band K business for now)...
