What do you guys think?
Its been 3 sunny days in a row, my Rear Goodyear F1's are way beyond illegal, and ive got some semi used (2 trackdays) cups waiting to be put on...
Have you guys switched over yet?
Mine went on Tuesday
But I was more than illegal on my rears too so HAD to get some new tyres anyway.
Mine are arriving next week, I'll be getting them on over the next few weeks...
My only concern is that although we've had some lovely sunny days this week the temperature hasn't actually risen a great deal at all so prob not Cup weather quite just yet!

Next few weeks for me once it gets a little warmer, not going to be anywhere near the right temp currently, so see no point just yet, you probably have more grip without cups ..
Just gagging to get mine on... so soon

I think the "michelin cup highlights" this winter were when raining the back kicking out at 85 in 3rd but t\c sorted that :bigcry: and the weirdest one downhill on a dual carriage way with a slight curve the front felt like it slide over the white line in the middle of the road then gripped again I looked at my girlfriend she looked at me and it we was like wtf was that :hahaha: :bigcry: oh not to forget getting stuck twice and wasting 30 minutes clearing snow to get it back on the drive when i made the mistake of trying to use it on when it snowed :bigcry:

Fpmsl! Glad I was at least on PS2's then! I couldn't even pull up a slope in the road one morning when it was icey, I had to wait until it rained to melt the ice! :bigcry: :bigcry:

Thinking id quite like to get mine on Cups for the road this year as well but out the 3 track days i did last year i done them all with the PS2's on due to rain :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry:
The cups i have on my track wheels are very near slicks so show them a wet track and you are in the nearest wall.

Ahh right, not long though is it!
I can't wait to get mine on and scrub some of that rubber off you've got stuck to them! Makes them looked totally fucked but I'm sure they'll be fine! :bigcry: :bigcry: ;)

You can get a hot knife or scraper for the bigger bits. It's just what happens if you don't have a long run home on them after a trackday
I wore some in October that were still lumpy after a drive to Anglesey and half a trackday. I think it is worse when you get them wa on cold days and once you slow down the rubber hardens quicker than usual

It's fine mate, the tread will be there somewhere! :hahaha:
Never got round to putting my winter wheels on, so Cups all year for me. Having said that it's not a daily driver so guess I'm cheating!
Went for a great drive yesterday in it, not pushing hard as temp was apparently about 3-4 degs, and the other half is 8 months pregnant, she reckoned the baby enjoyed the run though!
Still feels so quick to me, I don't use it that much so familiarity has definitely not bred any contempt!

Yup cups surprised me at a very wet brands last month how well they handled had some moments tho still i didnt have much bottle to throttle them when it stopped peeing down for a bit as the track was still very wet...Anyway im taking my cups of tomorrow for some f1's as i reckon ive only got two trackdays left in them so gonna save them for a poss brands and defininate silverstone in may.

I've done 50 trackdays in just over 3 years, the first two on PS2 and the rest on Cups, all weather.
You need to run on tyres that you feel confident on. Occassionally in heavy rain on Cups it has been treacherous but also in heavy rain I have found loads of grip in Snett on a cold very wet December morning.
If you can get heat in them by driving hard whilst not getting too much water under the tyre they are ok

Ive done a very wet oulton on my a048's, found them fine.
When wet just slowly build up your pace, to get heat in gradually then once warm they are fine.
In the wet I find I am far faster than most, when dry its a lot closer, some faster. Well most are;)
All down to confidence. And balls!:gayfight:

Indeed, when the back end is stepping out in a straight line in 5th gear, you know a CSL has grip issues!:smt087 Didn't help with a bolt from the barrier repairs up towards Wipperman embedding itself in the front N/S Cup!:bigcry: PS2 solutions, thank you please!
