Hi I did post in the Tech area but then had to search for it only to find it on page two. In case I forget I posted it there I thought I'd ask here as somebody will no doubt have teh answer to this quetsion.
My CSL came with AP Racing calipers all round  however I do not know what type they are, I suspect they are the 5575 at the front but don't know how to tell. I'd also like to know what's fitted at the rear. I'd like to order up some pads for the front at least, they are fine for now but doubt they will last till the end of the ring trip in April, so what pads should I order (I need the correct fitment, hence wanting to know what calipers I have and also recomendations for material/type.)

btw I think most of the miles I'll be doing are road miles but don't want any problems on track (if that helps you)

Thanks muchly

Pics

Think they only do one type if your running AP disc's as well, did hear a rumour that AP were going to to some to fit the standard discs but never seen any.

As for Pad's i think you'll find the majority will say RS29, I run these all year round on track and road and there spot on and the best pads to go for IMOP, check some of the other threads on brake judder etc, or second most pop are the RS14 as favoured by uncle shim;)

Das rite:thumbs:

the only AP that i know def were made for the E46 are CP5555 and CP5575 callipers. Both use pagid pad shape 8018 but 1903 are same shape but 1mm thicker so only fit the CP5555 calliper (when new)

at the rear the common calliper us the CP5144 which has pagid pad shape 1265.

So unless you get someone to fake a look or remove the pad and check the shape my guess would be if you buy Rs29 in 8018 and 1265 shapes they should be fine

I have found you get a lot of brake squealing with the rs29 and rs14 any thoughts on this?

I am a new fan of uncle shimmy's solutions.

RS14 rock !

Thank you please.

shimmy was right about the caliper numbers.
From the inside of the caliper, the part number is written.
I am not sure there is some other way to understand which one is which... unless you are Fuechsrohre, that is crazy in love with BBKs.

I'll take some photies tomorrow, I think it is the standard AP set up though, it looks like I'll be needing discs too, a good place to buy??

Odd - I've had RS14 for years and they squeal like hell!

Fasteddie - the model is stamped on the caliper. From memory it's on one of the inside faces so you have to take the pads out to see it.
