Thought i would post a couple of the CSL in the paint shop for a freshen up.
My painters had about 6 CSL's in before and he reckons my bumper is not OEM.................(or it is but an earlier version)
It fits perfectly and i would not have thought it was not the real deal
What do you guys think?:thumbs:

Thanks Shimmy
This is pre paint, he reckons the curved bit around the air intake & the other side is not as carved as they have seen, and the top indented line around the front is a little shallower than on others?

Looks genuine, the line might be shallower as the people who painted it before didnt sand it down properly and is thus filled with more paint residue then it should be.

Funny you should say that, i spoke to the painter today and he was scratchin the bumper back & he reckoned it had about 6 paint over paints on it............That must account for some loss of profile:bigcry:;)

Your painter's on drugs ... if that isn't a genuine bumper then it's the best replica there is.
There is only one replica CSL bumper out there with a built in crash bar ... but that bumper's made of fiberglass not Carbon Fiber, and I've only ever seen one of those on ebay a while ago.
99% of all the other CSL replica bumpers out there have no built in crash bar - it either uses the aluminium carrier method or the separate kevlar bar mounting method.

Is the entire bumper CF then? I thought it was fibreglass with CF extensions?? Can somebody confirm this please, cricky how much is it to replace?

The whole thing is autoclave pre-preg dry carbon fiber. Look for the "Made in Slovenia" sticker shown in the other post by Shimmy.
It is done in multiple layers - and in different weave, pattern and strength configuration. If you look at the impact bar it's also done in a very different weave pattern to the rest of the bumper, hence its strength.
I believe in Europe the bumpers are circa 2800 pounds correct gents?
Here in NZ the dealers (I mean stealers) charge about NZ$10,000 for the front bumper
Now who wants to pick up a few for me and put it in a shipping container :hahaha:

That's about right yeah. When I looked into replacing mine, it was going to be about that for supply only, not even painted. Mental money! :bigcry:
