Am I just unlucky or what ?
I've had the CSL for about 400 miles now...........
When I took delivery, the rear light cluster had condensation in it and the offside rear tyre had a slow puncture......
These were rectified at my local Wilmslow BMW dealership and the original dealer underwrote these costs.
It goes in again because the offside Xenon light was failing to ignite and when it did it flickered like mad. So - it needed a new Xenon light control unit (warranty item) and at the same time a new front bonnet badge as the last one was loose.....
Anyway, I digress, annoying as these minor things are they have been successfully rectified to no cost to me. When I pick up the car today, the technician tells me that he thinks the clutch is slipping :banghead:
I've noticed a little slurring on up changes, but nothing I noticed as clutch slip :dontknow: Its booked in for a week on wednesday for them to drop the gearbox and inspect the clutch. I've been told that if its been shown to have been 'abused' (eg due to multiple race launches), then it won't be covered by the warranty.... The car has done 18500 miles !
I have spoke to the selling dealer who have, so far said they won't walk away from me on this. I have made it clear that I will reject the car if this is not resolved.
Just to cap this off, my wife tells me today she hates the car :wall :wall Its too uncomfortable, too noisey, too aggressive, suspension is too hard and its too chavy. :banghead:
God I'm hacked off......... I just want to get out there and enjoy the bloody thing :(

The clutch is not faulty it will be the software not taking up the little slack. hence the slurry on the up change, some times a good thrash in setting 6 sorts it for a little while, but it is brill when you get a new cluch and flywheel fitted.
They are bad for this do what i do every new part fitted is a new part for free
making the car like new.
I have had a list as long as your arm fitted under warranty,
it is a hassel going in to bmw all the time, but i know my CSL is
as good as new now.
DONT TAKE THE WIFE IN THE CAR IT IS FASTER WHEN YOU ARE IN IT YOURSELF AND HALF A TANK OF SUPER
i agree with mark, go give it some proper beans and see how the clutch is then
i have seen your car and its definatly not been abused!

Well after 48hrs of being left out to dry by the selling dealer.....
The AUC warranty approved it.
The car finally needed a new clutch, new rear diff and a power steering pump....... total bill incl VAT and labour £5k

Apparently only BMW GB can find this data out - its an ECU out job apparently..... It can't be read by the GT1 interrogator.

Yes - BMW are fixing it - with the AUC warranty picking up the tab.
I'm disgusted with the aftersales support from the selling dealer.
My local dealer, were, in contrast fighting my corner, although it took a days worth of paperwork collating before AUC would approve it.

That's exactly how BMW dealers make me feel .I had quite a long conversation with BMW UK about it .The dealers must lose them so many car sales. I stopped buying BM's for 9 years through last times experiences. One more spat with the dealers again ,and mine will be gone aswell . The CSL is mint and I love it , but the customer service is diabolical.

Well after 3 weeks I've got the car back....
It required a little leverage to get te desired outcome - but all is well now.
Work done on the car included the following :-
1) New clutch (flywheel ok)
2) New rear diff
3) New power steering pipes (leaking)
4) New gearbox switches (apparently intermittent fault with the SMG
Got the car back and its much much better. Seamless gearchanges and no funny twanging noise from the rear on full lock.
Just to cap things off........
- I curbed the offside alloy :banghead: parking the car - god that annoys me sooooooooooo much. Will need it refurbing soon.
- the garage in question failed to send off my V5 until 10 days ago :banghead:
So....... out came the pen and paper, and a snotty letter went to the managing director of Sytner......... End result £200 compensation :119:
Anyway....... I'm going to keep the car a little while longer - its had £8k worth of work/parts (including prep work) so it should last a bit before anything expensive goes wrong again (keeping fingers crossed !).

Also thought of moving on to an Aston but the depreciation is bad - besides nice looking car, performance not that great either, might be disappointed after csl.
