Mine's there too for a NEW alternator (BMW Warranty at it's best) :thumbs: U should see how much one of these costs :119: Apparently light weight, CSL specific. With a bit of luck, picking her up tomorrow, mid day :thumbs:

Having just double checked the "Real OEM" web site, you are annoyingly right :blalalala: It's not cheep though, somewhere in the region of £400 + VAT + fitting. I've never owned such a pricy alternator before. :hahaha:

I guess I should count myself lucky then. After a month and a half in hibernation inside dry buy not heated garage, the CSL's battery (as expected) was flat enough for it not to start without the assistance of the Old faithful E39 Dieseasal (which starts every time, even after a month sitting at the Airport car park) Eventually I got her going but I could see she was struggling to regenerate her own battery so went for a spirited 40 minute drive to see if it helps. It didn't that much so today I popped in to see Andy @ Murketts who very promptly, took the CSL to the workshop and 10 minutes later came back with the news that the Alternator was toast (not charging at all when any of the components like lights, stereo, A/C, etc are on) He managed to order the New unit there and then, which luckily was in stock, on the overnight delivery, got one of the technicians to start stripping the old unit out, ready for replacement in the morning. All going to plan I should have her back for some weekend fun. :thumbs:

It was mate, but I have the full BMW Warranty, as my car quite clearly is a garage queen and NEVER been tracked or "Rung":whistle:.
Thorney diagnosed the head gasket during the Dyno, I was already suspicious it was slightly down on power,on checking warranty noticed HG was covered so hopefully happy days thanks to Andy at Murketts,:thumbs: who has accepted my explanation that my car doesnt have a roll cage, its somewhere to hang my clothes !:hahaha:

No m8... I didn't ... but mine has a shiny NEW one :whistle: ... so this morning, at 09:20 I get a call from Andy @ Murketts... Hi Matt (he says) your car is ready... ( I replyed, with a hint of shock and surprise) my car ??? ready ??? Have U had the hobbits working the night shift ??? Blime Andy, it'll be another hour before I'm ready. Sometime later, I jumped into the 116i loan car and headed West. Collected my SG CSL with only the BMW Warranty excess to pay and all is well again. :thumbs: Talk about GREAT :thumbs: service. :supz:
