Well guys ,did a 650mile round trip yesterday and brought my new CSL home to Cornwall.I had a smile on my face all the way home,i cant belive how much better it is than my stock smg M3.The car is in fantastic condition inside and out,the only down side is its on 60k miles, but hopefully im only going to use it once a week. Also my flap is missing, does this matter.Im gonna read the csl booklet today, but what should the oil reading be.:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

The guys will prob give a more detailed answer but the flap missing sometimes indicates a failure of it to function properly so owners remove them. I reckon your 60k wont be a problem if you intend to keep it and not do many miles, as this will let time catch up with the mileage if that makes sence! Plus it is still only floating around average mileage for a car of this age.
ENJOY. ps, when is the meet then????

Some CSL owners remove it to have the GRRRRRRRY induction noise  all of the time. My "flap" was missing when I bought my SG CSL few months ago, so I reinstalled it as per O.E. and it works fine  They are not always removed because the actuator is broken

1.0 litre on dash should be good, if it reads 1.1 it could actually be over as I believe the highest reading it displays is 1.1,
Although I change my oil regular on my csl, bit of ocd, but I run a garage so its easy, I checked it on dipstick to perfect level and my display reads 1.1.

Glad you got the car ok Brett - enjoy in this rare dry spell! ;)
Flap missing doesn't indicate actuator failure as mattCSLnut said; many remove it to get the extra noise all of the time - i removed mine over a year ago
60k miles isn't a biggy for these cars
btw - weedavey - happy for a meet anytime at weekends - preferably when it's dry - maybe sometime over the festive period?

Ok min 0.1 max 1.1 but if you over fill the dash will only show 1.1 not a good thing
I run my csl at 0.7 any where from 0.4 to 0.9 is good

No worries there m8. Mine reads 0.4 which is still fine. I think the hand book says anything between 0.1 and 1.1 is OK

congrats on the purchase, sounds like you are enjoying it already!
my only recommendation for 60k miles would be to get the radiators cleaned inside and out, keep an eye on the water pump, and replace the coil packs and refurb the injectors the next time you are at a dealers or indie garage
also get the subframe checked out at the same time
