How easy/difficult are they to remove from the front bumper that's still attached to the car ? Mine need a bit of sprucing up (re lacquer) and I thought it would be easier to do that off the car. Useful advise would be most appreciated

Splitters are attached to the bumper by several plastic 'rivet' style fixings. They are pretty easy to remove by withdrawing the centre section of the 'rivet'. I think the fixings are one use only though so you will need new ones to re-attach the splitters.

Nah they are reusable multiple times unless you break them (pretty hard to do though). 2 on each splitter - 4 clips in total.
Easy to take off - but try and mask the sides where the splitters slide off to prevent it scratching the paint.
When reinstalling, install the inner side (grill side) first and the slide up.

Excellent stuff and noted the potential scratchy scenario  THANX NZ_M3

Mate, there's 4 clips for each splitter. I found out the hard way when I replaced a brand new splitter with only 2 (Why I do not know) and it come off as I was tanking it down the M80. Never noticed until I got to Girvan and lucky for me, it was still attached by the one rivet and only damaged slightly. I've since reattached it using all 4 rivets and it ain't going anywhere now. Easy to removed with the know-how though.
Sorry for Thread Hi-Jack Mark.

Only the post April 08 manufactured splitters have 4 clips on each side .. the origina CSLs splitters came with only 2 clips each side (I know because I have had both sets of splitters before).
The post April 08 splitters are slightly different in the sense that the top overlap (the part that tucks under the bumper) is about 1/2 the height as the originals - hence the requirement for 4 clips.
The advantage of this is it makes the splitters easier to install without scratching the paint.
Personally I prefer the original design where the overlap is taller and tuck under the bumper more.
The set Mark has for sale are the pre - April 08 splitters - so these only require 2 clips.
Also worth noting is the post April 08 manufactured splitters are no longer made in Slovenia and instead come from the same manufacturer as all the Mini JCW carbon fiber stuff (the laminated part number states BMW Mini and a long string of numbers and manufacture date) - I've got some photos of this on my other computer which I'll put up tomorrow.

I stand corrected. I checked mine and as you said, one is pre april 08 and the other new, port April 08. I think I prefer the ones with the bigger lip as I had to drill two new holes in the bumper the fit the newer ones correctly and even with all 4 pins in, it still feels like it might pop out at high speed.
Many apologies again Mark, at least it keeps your Thread high up the pecking order! :supz:
