Welcome to the forum Bounce and congrats on the purchase, you will not be sorry !!
Just checked my mileage after exactly 2 months to the day and I have racked up 1860 !:bigcry: much of which was out to Ring and return, plus the odd little steady 13 mile cruise through the Fatherland !... oh and the Belgian forests of course ! ... not forgetting the flat wastelands of Bedfordshire. I have just asked for an Insurance quote on basis of 5k per year, same ppl as you are with Shim...mmm... methinks a requote is in order !

Try "Competition Car Insurance" on 0115 9415255 www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk I'm only paying £505 per annum, fully comp with four track days cover included  5000 mile limit but easily extendable at minimum cost.

Novell and richards do 5track days within policy I found them cheaper than cci

Matt, i have quote from CCI @ £728, INC 4 td'S, basis 52 yo, parked on drive, 5k per annum tc. I have virtually zero NCB as all insrance in past 20 years was through company fleet policy. Also in MK postcode area.
Novell and richards are next on list so thx Derek.

Fair enough but U must have a doggy MK postcode ;) as I'm 17 year your junior and in Cambridge postcode. I guess the NCB makes a big difference as I have 17 years worth and CCI managed to mirror some of it onto the CSL, from my other car. Pays off to shop around though . Best of luck.

Thanks for the public reminder about my age Matt !!;)... all we need is T$ to drop by and remind everyone about me becoming a Grandad June next year. The NCB is indeed the big problem, having had the luxury of my Company Policy for years, but if i keep CSL on that, they want about £2,500 ! At the moment it looks like i will go with CCI @ the £728, which may increase with additional mileage, includes 4 TD's. Nowells & Richards didnt want to know when I told them it had a roll cage fitted !! I suppose they take the view still that with that fitted, and better brakes etc. you are going to go faster and be a worse risk ! So they consider its better to do trackdays without a rollcage than with one !! duh! , but in the next breath the guy asked me if I had experience of performance cars before ! (Which in past few years I havent not since I got rid of my old T5 Volvo, which was a good motor too.) He said that would also be a problem ! :banghead:
The thing is though, that my fleet Policy conditions don't mention or exclude the NS
