I believe they may have made a mistake regarding tyre wear dependent on toe in or out. It disagrees with this...

i know nothing, but if you imagine live load and braking with toe in and out i could imagine why toe out would wear outer and toe in, inner

All things equal if you were only travelling in a straight line forever then uncle benz is right ... but different story when you are on the track turning and braking.
Like Thorney pointed out - not that simple - camber also affects it greatly.
I've just noticed that with the CSL on the track, running toe in = inner wear, toe out = outter wear.
