View Full Version : Angel Eyes

Naively, when I first purchased my car I automatically thought it came with Angel Eyes. I'm not even sure why. Possibly due to most E46's I've seen wearing them.

I thought on a black car they look great, with a white colour.

From searching around it seems a mixed bag of emotions, some feel it violates a 'true classic' look... others believe it modernises the frontal area.

Personally think they look great on most BMW's I've seen. I'm very much into changing the look of a car to reflect my personal creativity, but is changing a classic, limited run vehicle akin to blasphemy?

What's the thoughts of the register, and who here has them?

I think they're crap, personally. I'd like to think a CSL owner wouldn't really care what a 14 year old thinks about their car.

i have heard that with a roll of masking take you can create the impression of Angel Eyes at a fraction of the cost.

Maybe you'd like to try it on your Vauxhall Corsa first to see if it works :hahaha: ;)

I've always liked them on the BMW models that have appeared with them on as standard.

Not that fussed about retrofitting them to mine though. I have Xenons and they look pretty cool as they are.

Each to their own of course...

Umnitza do a kit thats easily fitted and looks good, available from ca automotive, led kits are more reliable than the ccfl ones, as with everything you get what you pay for.

my car was xenonless and I'm a bit of a xenon snob, so i bought a set from a member on here. They came with angel eyes fitted from factory.

I was not pro/con angel eyes but now they are fitted, I love them, think they look standard tbh. And they were too cheap to pass up:thumbs:

Not everyone likes black wheels either, lots do as you see on here. Most think their misses is something special, many will think her a pig.

Each to their own.

If you like them get them fitted:thumbs:, very easy install.

To me angel eyes are quintisentially BMW, as led strips are audi, like vortex generator(hedgehog) is mitsubishi evo.

On a bm they do not look out of place imo.

Heres a few, not to everyones taste but i care not:birdman:

Well, a very mixed bag then. Only a handful of you have actually done it.

As I said, personally I think they suit the E46 and, like you said Lawsy, is a brand identity of BMW. Many of you believe its too chav, and I suppose you do see it on many a chav mobile, but that's because it does suit the car.

It's looking good on yours lawsy, and I think it would look better with a black car also. Might be a mod I look at doing in the future.

Interesting to hear everyone's opinions though.

Opinions are good, but remember they are like arseholes everyone has one.

Go with what you think:thumbs:

Glendog runs pink wheels and rumour has it he is contemplating a pink wrap, good on him, bit different, i think his wheels look cool, but I would not run them on mine:thumbs:

My recently acquired SG CSL  has NO Xenons despite me originally wanting Xenons on my CSL. Because Jeff's CSL was/is such a GREAT car I bought it anyway and to be honest I don't miss not having Xenons, one bit. I'm not even thinking of retro fitting an OE set or any Angel lights as I think non xenon CSL are closer to what BMW had in mind when designing the M3 CSL and the standard lamps look kind of RETRO . I have upgraded the H7 bulbs to the MOST EXCELLENT  "OSRAM Night breaker" bulbs which make a noticeable difference but are totally road legal. Besides, my daily smoker has GENUINE Angel Eyes as BMW intended which I like because they are meant to be there so I have no desire to ad Angel Eyes to my CSL. Just my 2 pence worth.

Xenons rock !
I love the look of the car with the xenons.
Also, the lightning power cannot be compared with standard ones.

Don't get me WRONG, if my CSL had Xenons that would have been very NICE  I DO like them too, it's just it would have been very silly to turn Jeff's CSL down for the lack of Xenons.
