YEAP  I've been using Mac's since 1996. Currently I have a brand NEW MacBook PRO 13" for when I'm on the road and an iMac G5 20" Widescreen at home. JUST do it :hahaha: ... you'll NEVER look back :supz:

A Mac is an absolute must, I use a PC at work and a Mac at home. Its a worth while investment, go on take the plunge you will not regret it.

Bought one, no more stable than windows, spinning beach ball, grey screen, not waking up from sleep, hardware was dodgy too, creaking hinges, dodgy battery, "super" drive that scratched cds.
Best bit about it was the resale value when I got rid and went back to a proper computer.

Sound like an OLD second hand Dog of a Mac from a few centuries ago

Yeah, a brand new top of the range (at the time) black macbook, thinkpads make it look silly for build quality.

You were just unlucky m8. :bigcry: I've had four Apple Mack of my own, all from NEW and no build quality issues whatsoever.

Once bitten twice shy, both Windows 2008 and now Windows 7 are faster and more stable than my Mac experience and more intuitive too, and Lenovo Thinkpad laptops are miles better built.
All IMO obviously :D

No worries m8  Each to their own i guess. :hahaha: I've never owned a Windows powered machine but every time I try to use my mates laptop with Windows "Something or rather", I just give up :banghead: or it crashes
Yep, I've been a mac convert for around 8 years now. Converted everyone at work also.
Nathan, I think you are one of the only people I've ever met to have had a problem that severe.
You of course get problems, and being more specialist they are harder to fix (rather than a windows 'go down to PC world and just buy a new motherboard' style fix anyway) when things do go wrong but in general they are reliable.
Only things to fail on mine over the 8 years (and that being my 3 towers and laptop) have been memory, which are cheap easy fixes.

I can hand on heart say I haven't had a virus on any of my Windows machines (4-5 at any time) for 9 or so years (and that was my fault for connecting a new machine directly to the internet with no firewall).
Perhaps I don't have the same favourites list as you

I must be the LUCKIEST Apple Mac owner ever then. Two iMac and two Mac Books in the last 13 years and nothing broke. The Mac laptops travel the world with me  I've had my NEW MacBook since July this year and it's already been to Japan and Europe. I LOVE it :smt055 + it has a NICE Screen saver  as does my iMac G5 20"

I have a 13" macbook and at first it was a bit strange (not the best with computers me!) but now i would be without it.
Love all the shortcuts etc.
Now i have just read that they do the Macbook pro in 13" that could be on the hitlist soon

I have unix background in my work... but as a desktop I use strictly Windows (and FreeBSD).
If you know what you are doing, they work very well.
On the other hand, I hate the last 2 years the policies of Apple.. by having a black box on everything and you need to buy almost everything from them.
They were advertising that Microsoft was doing that... but now, they are worse than Microsoft.
