I believe I read somewhere there were 72 Black CSL out of the 422 CSL in total for the UK market. U could call BMW Customer Services for the definitive answer  Black is V. COOL colour on the CSL and even though the Silver Grey CSLs are more common, it's my preferred choice as, IMHO it shows off the CSLness (Carbon roof, Duck tail boot, simplified front bumper with the single Air inlet) + the curves of the car, more. It's why they used SG CSL in all the Ad campaign, brochures, Dealer posters, etc..

Im with Andrew on the power difference, not because I know any different, but because I bought his black one and he is a thoroughly good egg !!
I guess all you Greys had better get over to ebay quick and get a bid in for that "special m-mode trim" :hahaha:
During my reseach, I read somewhere that it was 102 Schwarz auto

Maybe less now! Any write offs?

Actually, out of the 422 UK CSL's, would be interesting to know how many are left.

Thorneys unlucky shunt car was a black one, but assume he will rebuild it, unless he uses that grey M3 shell off ebay !!! ...confued then !

that was an M3, not a CSL.

His CSL is still in one piece and i beleive just sold to Roger, who binned the M3.

Roger(Ratboy) should be along here soon then as a CSL owner

COOL  I'm viewing Jeff's SG machine on Sunday (weather permitting) and I might be having another look at OW03 USJ (the one I missed at the BCA Auction) in Lougborough on Saturday  The search is heating up

Good luck! (I'd go for Jeff's though, least it has some history)

Jeff's CSL is on top of my list  but OW03 USJ has Full Service History too, had a a BIG service @ 58K, only three previous owners and had bonnet, front bumper and front wings re sprayed professionally (and very recently) so it's looking good too. I'll keep those who are interested, posted
