Use a pyrometer to work it out.

Thats unhelpful :hahaha:

We ended up at around 24psi cold on Dunlop Slicks, you could start there, but Nathan is right you need to look at tyre temps across the tyre

It all depends on the width of the slicks which isn't given, the make & compound, the stiffness of the sidewalls, the weight of the car, the suspension stiffness, the geo etc etc.

32 hot is a good starting point but I really would suggest a pyrometer to tune it to what works for you with your settings.

i take it the goal is to get temp's equal across the surface of the tyre

No, the goal is to have a spread across (have heard anything from 10-15 degrees spread) with the insides the hottest, but for pressures you can get a very good idea if it is working by seeing if the middle is hotter (over inflated), or colder (under inflated) than either side.

Curly is yer man for the Michelins as that is what he used to use, I've only ever used the dunlops.

If it was the same tyres as I was using 24 x64x18 Cup front tyres same tyre all round, 25lb cold front and rear 32lb hot front and rear, also first lap out go steady and dont ride any curbs then after that give it the beans for 6-7 laps and you will get good tyre wear and good performance without too much wear. if you start doing 25min sessions you will be lucky to get the day out of them and plus you will find the rears will over heat and slide. On your cool down lap try keep on the racing line because they will pick up everything , you will need to run a little bit more camber at the front around 3-3 1/2 degrees or you will get the outsdie edge wearing quickly you have to watch the edge because its very easy to get down to the cords. If you do all that you should get 2 track days out of a set,
