Great day and good to meet some new and old faces

GO CSL and FUC IT were quick drivers, one of them came up behind me and I went way too quick into a corner with my dodgey brakes, I bet he was pissing himself watching me go all over the place

Just like when I followed Glendog and couldn't slow down, I had use all the kerb and a bit of grass :hahaha:

Good day yesterday, well run by Nick & the BMW Car Club, with great weather too! Good to meet s.mac(Steve) & Steve Gill again and to meet azrael(Steve), lots of Stevens!:hahaha:

AlexGTT & Bealo popped over for the afternoon to to say hello - nice one fellas  Also met danp & M5powered.

It was good being on track with so many other nice BMW - especially the CSLs! I seem to have no front brakes now, however, pads worn down to the metal! :banghead:

Yes it was a good day and was good to meet Rob (at last lol) Alex aand the 2 x Steve's. Met an Irish guy who is on here but forgot your name sorry, had a good chat.

I enjoyed being a passenger Whore for the afternoon and a big thankyou to all who gave me lifts.

Had a good look round Thorney's race car and very impressive it is too. Gutted i didn't get some laps in it but next time maybe.

CSL's were by far the best sounding on track but the new M3 and an old M5 pushed them close.

I have some photo's off the day and will post them up soon.

Hmm, dunno about that mate. From the pit wall, I think Ant's Kumho E36 (the white one) sounded a bit meaner that the CSL's on the induction side. Scarily rapid too. I managed about 10 laps in it before turning green in the morning :gayfight:

Was fun sitting on Thorney's tail a few times too...

The new M5 sounded a bit normal - even down the pit-straight you couldn't really hear the V10.

Great day though, and weather turned out to be fantastic! I got home about 1 after putting Ants car to bed. Oh, and finding someone to make us a curry at 11.30

Spat a belt.

Happened so many times he even has a drawing on the top on how the belt threads through so he can repalce it quickly. He always carries two spare belts with thim wherever he goes.

Answer your question? ;)

Both the E92's (ours and AC's) were both running Acrapovich exhausts.

Driving slicks down to cords isn't to be advised and Donny's noise limit is about as accurate as a Govt WMD report. 100db in am with race exhaust, we added two extra silencers and they recorded it at 104 (roughly twice as loud in theory). I had to short shift to get round it and then they came up and said it measured a 97db then a 109db on the same lap:banghead:

If they're going to have a system at least make sur eit works.

Let's put it this way, i didn't think it was fast and i stood at the end of the pit straight and it didn't seem any quicker than the CSL's and not as fast as the V10 M5.

The owner told me it was running with 540BHP, after talking to him and seeing it run on track a Supercharger has been crossed off my wishlist

There is absolutely no way that was running 540bhp! :smt108 If it was he was using half throttle. Looks like the installation CA offer, made in USA. ESS system is far better and doesn't throw belts. Only have to look at the "Loaded CSL" to see what a real 550bhp supercharger system does.

IMO you're mad to SC an S54 engine, just my opinion of course.

I would not do it to a CSL but the M3 is crying out for 1 and the belt thing must be down too it not fitted right or the SC is out of line for it to eat belts

They have great sucsess in the USA with them i have seen 800RWHP on some M3s State side.

Just want to say huge thanks for the warm welcome yesterday at Donnington, and particularly to Rob who took me round.

I couldn't drive owing to a funeral in the morning, but the variety of nice machinery and indeed weather more than made my afternoon visit worthwhile.

CSL ownership (hopefully) starts this Friday once BMW have given the prospective car a clean bill of health.

Don't know John and valid point. It would be interesting to know.:bigcry: I personally wouldn't use a supercharger on a csl or M3. Not my sort of thing.

My point was the SC M3 at Donington didn't seem to match the 540bhp claim. The E92 M3's seemed quicker in a straight line and having been in a csl with a genuine 500 something bhp and very health torque to match, I know it would easily outdrag one.
