right guys, when sports on does the flap open when revved even at standstill?

Mine does, but recently its stopped opening, whilst driving or at standstill,

The bm techs/service department were adamant that it did NOT open at standstill when revved

Ive personally seen mine move at standstill when revved, but he said it doesnt, i must have been halucinating then.

I know 100% that it does open, ive seen mine and many others open, they just make you doubt yourself, i cant wait to see their faces when i pick it up with fault rectified and i show them it opening at standstill.

I tried to tell them it did and they basically treated me like i was an idiot.

They have basically made themselves look like idiots, he was arguing with me that it didnt and 2 of their master techs agreed with him.

i had my third potentiometer fail on me last month in 3 years so my flap is now permenently OFF.

Dont worry i did, I even gave the guy the chance.

I told him by continuing the way he was he was just making the workshop look silly and clueless, he was still adamant.

I told them that i wasnt happy that someone who didnt know fook all was working on my car. And was not really happy about leaving it in their company.

They have ordered a temp sensor?????????

I dont think it will cure it tbh but eh what the fook do i know

The reason the mechs think it doesnt open is because everyone they have seen has been in the shop with a broken one :whistle:

They are idiots at the dealers. Did you take it to Haliwell in Warrington?


Had the same convo with them over the John Cooper Works airbox on my Cooper S. I knew it opened at 4500rpm but they were saying no it doesn't. Took it to Williams in Liverpool and they found the fault, got the report off them and took it to back to Haliwell Jones :thumbs:

Yes it wad halliwell jones Warrington. They came across as stupid tbh, they were adamant it does not open even though It does now. I'm gonna go in next week and show them. They still think it does not open when stationary. So it will be funny. My words will be. "I'm just educating you on the csl airflap operation, so in future you don't embarress yourself and give another customer the impression that you know fuck all"

My flap is working intermitently - so should be interesting when I run it into them.
