View Full Version : Thinking of selling
Someone on PureGT is selling a paticularly nice 996TT cab, and as much as I love the CSL I already have four cars and aint got room for another so the CSL may have to go :bigcry:
53 SB 26k miles, 11 months full BMW warranty, due a big service which I will do prior to sale, full detail prior to sale too by Sportscar Protection, totally standard bar a couple of carbon interior bits, new tyres, one trackday by me, really is like new, what do you reckon she is worth if I do decide to go for the 996?? Prices for good ones seem strong at the moment?

Good luck with the sale mate, remember to point the new owner in our direction.
996TT? Lovely, was just looking at these last night but just couldn't part with the praticality of the CSL as I only have the one car.

Dont really wanna part with the CSL TBH, but I already have five cars so space is becoming an issue, and the only reason I am considering it now is that the 996 has really caught my eye, even though I was set on a 997...
very nice indeed, but look at the RS in the back ground:whistle:

That belongs to the same guy, along with a Gt3 cup car - he races in Carrera cup, fair play to him :D

Glenns 996 is a very neat example. His wife drives it most of the time anyway ;) I reckon you could knock a couple of grand off that asking price.

You sir are one funny funny guy:hahaha::hahaha::hahaha:
If I dont get the right money for what is one of the best condition CSL's in the country, I'll buy a Porker AND keep the CSL, simple as that really.
Fook knows where I'll keep them all mind;)

Hazy, I'm not trying to be funny and I'm not as clued up as I was at the start of the year as I haven't been following the price of every single CSL available in the Country.
However, over 20K miles will be seen as low but not exceptionally low, other than that it is std (less the carbon which some would like, others not but it could be changed if you have the original stuff). Hence 28K? Maybe £30K, but you'll have to wait for the right buyer to come along. If you want a quick sale, then I think you'll have to 'give it away', hence the £25K comment....
What do others think?

Hazy,
If you aren't short of money, I would say keep your CSL and get the Porker mate... because you will not have to hunt for a good low milage one down the track if you are once again CSL-itched... CSL is such a nice car, it doesn't deserve a give away price IMO (any CSL in this case)...
Short of space? easy... rent a storage place to store the CSL away or even store the Strad away and you can always drive the CSL there to swap over with the Strad...
Problem solved :)
cheers,
richie
ps. I was thinking about a 997 gt3, but my wife is opposite to yours.... she hates p-cars for some odd reasons...

The Porsche is minging mate ... only a GT3 (+RS) would tick the box for me.
If it's for the missus I'll let you off.
Had my CSL for 5 yrs now and still love it, albeit hopefully a new stable mate to join it tomorrow :)
Rick
Ps have you still got the Lotus Sunbeam - I still remember you taking me round Oulton Park in it :)

Dont need a quick sale, infact, dont need to sell at all other than having a space issue, I could store one of the cars but i drive all of them on and off so it kinda defeats the object of having a nice car, storing it. Its not been that long since I brought it so I know full well how much better my example is compared to probably 90% of CSL,s available in terms of condition, history and useage. They are built for the track, but lets face it, everyone would buy a non tracked standard car over a tracked car any day, track miles are tough miles.

Minging??? How dare you! :banghead::hahaha: It is partly for the missus mate, she is hankering after one and that caught my eye....
Yeah, still got the Sunbeam, I take it out from time to time, love the little missile lots:smt055
