I'm half contemplating having a go at the time attack at Snett on the single entry format.

Results from last years 'super battle final'
Craig Winstanley V8 RX7 1.16.5
Geoff Mileham TVR Tuscan 1.17
Paul Hughes DC5 1.19.4
Tim Chandler Gt3 RS 1.19.8

My current best lap round there is a 1.21 flat. so with the element of competition i'm sure that could drop. either that of spin off trying

I'm looking forward to seeing what the CSL Cup boys get round there!

I know the fastest lap in the Kuhmo race series was a 1.18

CSL cup is 27 September whereas you Britcar boys will be the end August I believe.

I think you need to get the sweepstake on who does the best qual times? :)

My guess is Nathan and Manny will do a qual time midway between fastest modified and fastest standard CSL cup car, around 1m 18s

Good idea Shimmy :)

I competed last year in the Scooby - running 620bhp on race fuel and my best lap was a 1.17, although I unfortunately couldn't put that in when it counted (start line to start line) as tw*ts in EVO's and other associated jap crap kept getting in my way and holding me up, especially in the chicane :)

It was my 1st time at Snett, but was there again last week in the GT3, a different experience and probably a better one as I got to learn the track more.

I was amazed in speed difference on the back straight - was hitting about 135 to 138mph on the clock on the GT3 which over-reads by 5% according to GPS, whereas in the Scooby I was radar gunned at about 153mph - probably a good 25mph faster. But, I'm sure the GT3 would be better braking and faster through the corners, so overall should be an interesting comparison, although I don't think I could get it down to 1.17 again.

To put things into perspective the RCMS Gobstopper did the lap in 1.09s :supz:

i think my GPS top speed was abou 132mph so your GT3 would be around 138-140 i guess

1.17 in a GT3 would take some doing i think :smokin:but possible

If i only i could be bothered to make the Elise road legal. Did a 1m15s in the damp, albeit with slicks. How much slower are 888s?

ha ha Shim - our car is 1370ish kg with 349bhp (and either weight needs to go up or power down I think) running on same tyres as CSL Cup so if we get near the standard class pace I'm happy, the only difference between our car and a standard car spec wise is we've got rid of most of the rubber bushes and run intrax over KW, and a better diff (and of course we still have air con ).

Only been there once and to be honest the thought of racing there terrifies me :gayfight:

i think you will run a little faster than standard CSL Cup with the downforce help on some tracks, but maybe not all!

(the pressures on)

Bealo and i have done 1m 21s and only been there twice so weather and conditions permitting i think you should be in the 1m 19s with slicks - downforce maybe not too useful there with the big straights

A colleague of mine got 1.19 with cups on in his csl at snetterton. I think he said he got 4-5 seconds quicker time in his caterham.
