Hi...should be sorting some of these soonish (fronts only), but a couple of q's:

1. Do the Goodridge hoses for the E46 M3 hook up to AP's? (or a different thread/size?)

e.g. these: http://www.thorneymotorsport.co.uk/products/product_info.php?products_id=4202

2. Presume sensible (and not much more $$) to put braided hoses on the back as well? ..might as well while I'm doing it?

3. I know the Ferodo pads that they come with aren't considered great, but was thinking just use them for now. My rear OEM discs and pads are pretty new, so cld replace all round with Pagid pads when the time comes.

NB I might do the odd track day, but not loads, and when I do I'll be quite nice to the car ;-)

Chrs! Dan

yes do front and back

seriously i would not do ONE trackday with DS2500 fited as you will leave the track thinking your discs are fooked

buy some RS14, easy to fit and take them out later (ill buy them off you)

AP come with lines attached to the calipers as standard.

I would upgrade the pads to Pagids - Ferodos just don't cut it if you track it.

If you do track it - don't drive like a wuss...

Would I need Pagid's front and rear?

Or are OEM pads in the back OK?

As Shimmy says don't stick in the ferodos not worth the grief ... Pagid's all the way.. im running rs29 but they do squeal like an old bus around town :hahaha:
But superb on track lap after lap...

So... would OEM calipers+pads on the rear with AP's+RS14 on the front be OK?

Not ideal as you then cause the car to be too front heavy under braking.. admittedly not the end of the world, but it just means rather than having steady and balanced set up you change the dynamics of the car a little.

I would change the pads all round and hoses for the rear, if you've gone to the expense and trouble of AP's at the front its worth doing that little bit extra to finish it off properly TBH :smt047

try it and see, cheapest solution

Won't be far off and as said above maybe might need to up the pads from Ds2500 to Pagid if the back calliper is not changed

Don't do DS2500s!!!

Pagid RS29s all around for max on track performance.

Pagid also have the newer RS5 Ceramic Blue compound available for the AP calipers. Going by the spec sheet, it has a very usable temp range and may be a good pad for fast road and track use (nb, I have no personal experience of these yet)

The kits come complete with braided hoses which cant be used with anything else as AP's run banjo bilt fixings so if you upgrade the rears bear that in mind. Front only kits do make the car dive more but depend on how hard you use the brakes. The CSL Cup Alcons are a big step up from AP's so does depend on what you use the car for. Agree with Ade that RS2500 are more for road and light track if you drive harder on the brakes or do more than a couple of track days a year then RS29's are better. We've tried a few other pads over the years and keep coming back to RS29's, they are still top dog.

Chrs for the replies, so do you pad flippers (i.e. between road/race) clean the discs between diff types of pad?

i.e. as per: http://www.racepads.co.uk/downloads/Pagid_Install&Bedding.pdf

Ever had any probs with flipping?

I swapped from DS2500s to RS29s on the same discs recently with no issues.
