BMW Motorsport has told me all the CSLs ever built from the chassie numbers.
The last 5 numbers start from 98001 so you can tell if your car is an early build or a late build car
My car is 98305 so it is 1 of the first 1500 built cars i know BMW have 98001 in the bmw museum ;)

Wasn't there a big debate about this a while back on the "other forum" where it was stated that using the last digits on the chassis wasn't reliable, as the CSLs were taken off the build line at different times for different specs ect, so they call came out at different times not according to the chassis code ...
Mine would be a close relative to yours then Mark ... I've got 98237

Yes, it was confirmed in a communication from BMW.

:thumbs:Cheers Mark! Yes, it's been a mare recently. Moved out of our rented property a few weeks back and have been living in between the parents homes out of carrier bags and internet access has been limited.
Also, was due to have my second baby on 27th July so haven't been driving the CSL much recently either which has been sooooo hard as I miss driving her so much. Still waiting for the baby to make an appearance and if nothing by 6 August, then its coming out the sunroof :hahaha::hahaha:
So, loads going on which has limited getting on here and also driving my pride & joy! Hopefully normal service will be resumed sometime early August:supz:

This is very interesting!
Mine is 980026, so an old girl! Registered Sept '03.

Hi Mark/all,
checked BMW System today.
They startet with JB98000 and continued with JC98000 up to JC98545.
That would make 1545, including test and pre series.
My one is 21, early press-car. code 902
