Hi all,

Just picked up my car, and even in the manky weather had a really good run out... been to Yarm, Richmond, Barnard Castle, Middleton in Teesdale, Alston then up to Hartside and home. Must say, the car is awesome it had a lot to live up to going from an Exige S to a CSL but it's a move i'm glad I made.

Just one question though, been using the car with sport mode enabled, traction off and between S5 and S6 gearbox setting. The only problem to report is a thud when shifting, is this normal or something I should get sorted ASAP?

Sometimes it did it, others with shifts were fine but if you pin the throttle and shift you get a tiny delay with the thud then off it goes again... the clutch does not appear to be slipping and the garage who inspected that said theres pleanty of life left in the clutch.

The rear diff and drive shaft seals have just been done under warranty, could something not have been done up right? The thud appears to be from the back and its lhappening when the car disengages the gear and enables the next one.

Or is it just a case of getting use to it??

They all do that Sir....pull the paddle...thud....the only way to counter that is still lift of slightly and it will be smoother.

Oh and welcome.....how does it compare to the Exige S?

Thank fook for that, kinda expected it was part of the SMG box just wanted to make sure before it hits the Nurburgring next week... compared to the Exige it awesome, and I didn't think I'd be saying that about the handling, just the power.

Its a better road (and probably 'Ring) car than the Exige, only time I see the Exige been better is on a small tight circuit.

Yehh... doing 2nd till the 8th, but of course traveling time (overnight ferries) means its 3rd till the 7th.

Does anyone else get this?

Accelerating in 2nd, change to 3rd at say 3-4k RPM (in S5/S6) and there's a horrid, really loose feeling change which seems to 'shock' the transmission resulting in a power loss for a couple of seconds.

And my interior mirror shakes badly on most changes (at low to medium RPM).

I'm starting to wonder if the diff is celetoped on properly.

I've had the CSL so long I'm struggling to remember what's normal or not haha

Can't say i've noticed the mirror shaking, 2nd to 3rd seems OK its only when flat out shifting or when giving it some I get the quick thud.

I should have said the 2nd-3rd thing only happens occasionally, not all the time.

I suppose at 6 years old and 46,000 miles it's gonna sound a bit loose :hahaha:
