FAO the one arm bandits
After removing airbag etc on my car, i removed the paddle, and offered an ssg paddle to the space, very different mounting positions:banghead:
I wired it in, it was working fine.
But in order to permanently fix it in position i would have to cut away at the back of the wheel(which i dont want to, and wont do).
I would also have to mount a metal fixing plate inside the wheel, and also behind to stabilize the paddle shifter.
Also it does not look right compared to the left paddle, totally different styles.
It looks too bodged, as the shift paddle looks like it's not designed to be there( its not of course.)
After much consideration, and much playing with brackets etc, i have opted to fit a switch next to the m track button.
I feel in this position it is very ergonomic. For myself anyway.
I've ordered a few style switches, in order to find the easiest to use and the easiest to the eye.
The wiring mod is very very simple and i will post up with pics how to do this.
There are very small mods that need to be made near the m track button, ill also post these up.
An even easier mod if its your left hand you still have use of;)
Please be patient guys, as my girlfriend gave birth to our first child on tues:wav:
so im squeezing in 10 mins every now and then.
But i will sort it, it is possible and it will work.
