After a couple of years away from the CSL fold I've just returned and agreed a deal on this car.....

2004 M3 CSL in Silver Grey registration S25CSL with KW variant 3's, AP's etc and having covered just 6750 miles.

I'd be interested to hear some of its history if known to anyone?

True, but it would be good to know if it's been a garage queen or a track whore :)

Yep, you'd expect so. I know it's had one session but a lot of these (even with mods) rarely get tracked. My previous two were standard and my first (a Silver Grey) had been regularly tracked whilst my Saphire Black had been a commuter.

I'd still like some background if it's available.

Yep, it's a Glaswegian :)

This is my first time on the CSL Register, I don't think it was running when I had my CSL's but I still regularly use MTorque having just sold an E90 M3.

I am very looking forward to getting back into a CSL. As good a car as the current M3 is I have always thought of the CSL as the best drivers car I've yet experienced.

Edit...here's the ad http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1091071.htm I had no idea the current owner had such a fantastic car collection!!

yep as mentioned on MTorque it looks like JTs car. Then Guy had it and then the Glaswegian who i met at Donny last year.

I think youll find it wasnt tracked until GUY had it and only then once or twice as Guy had a whole host of mad cars to drive as well as the CSL

The Glaswegian (named on MT something like fastmonkey) said he did a few when i met him but always seemd like an honest car when ive seen it at various places

well done:thumbs:

Thanks for the welcome guys. It's good to know it was JT's car as back in the day I always thought of it as an aspirational example.

Even more excited now

you can tell if it def is JTs car because you will be able to see the water marks inside from the flood in 2006

just kidding!;)

Don't do that!

Lol, I've already booked the wrong flight tonight because I was distracted (and excited), I should be flying to Glasgow but I mistakenly booked Edinburgh which will put an extra hour and the train fair onto my journey

Good purchase - if I didn't already own a CSL, I would have bought that car immediately. Such a great find with that mileage on it. I'm fairly sure that you will get your money back whenever you sell it (provided you don't drive a round the world a few times)

It's a car I'm going to use sparingly. The odd sunny weekend and trackday.

I'm going to book into Rockingham for the 15th August for a trackday. Unfortunately its not that close to me (Cardiff) but a few of the guys I know from Boxa.net are going (I think about 20). I'm a newbie to this having only ever done a couple and never at Rockingham but I'm looking forward to it.

Those 6750 miles(including depreciation , road tax and fuel at 20 mpg(?) cost the first owner around £3.32 each!

m33ufo
21-06-2009, 08:57 PM
£3.32 per mile, sounds a bargain :)

.... and I reckon from here on it it'll cost me £0.00 per mile in depreciation - assuming I do a couple of thousand a year which I intend to.

Should have been collecting my new CSL today but frustratingly it's been delayed. The last few days seem to have gone by very slowly...fingers crossed by this time next week I'll have the beauty :)

Looks like I have another couple of weeks hanging around for this car. Long story but the seller has been unavoidably delayed and refunded my deposit until he gets back to the UK.

I've never been that patient but am trying my hardest not to buy something else....I keep seeing f360's, GT3's and the like and being so tempted! I did look at a 2004 GT3 Club Sport in Porsche Cardiff mid-week but it has the full roll cage which makes the front a little too cramped for me.

I must resist :hahaha:

I think I noticed yours on Pistonheads a few days ago and yes I almost emailed you :)

There are a few things that make me inclined to hold out for another couple of weeks......6750 miles, AP brakes all round and KW Var.3 suspension :-D

My previous cars have been totally standard so I'm looking forward to trying out this car with a few well considered upgrades fitted. I don't deny it's been a hard couple of weeks already and a harder 2 or so still to go. I've got cars buzzing through my head 24/7 :banghead: from CSL's, GT3's and F360's to M6's, Gransports and various AMG's. It's a hard life :hahaha:

What are you considering replacing it with?

Pacman
05-07-2009, 12:34 AM
I'm engaged to an American so it looks like I am emigrating..
If I dont sell then it will go into storage for when I visit the UK.
Maybe with its mileage and limited use in the next few years it will appreciate....

m33ufo
05-07-2009, 12:48 AM
Sounds like a reasonable swap ;)

For a well looked after example with low miles I think prices are always going to be firm although the cost of storage, road tax, insurance etc for very limited use is going to make it a real luxury.

How many owners?

Pacman
05-07-2009, 08:56 PM
3 owners.

See how you one goes, if whatever reason it doesn't happen, we can talk.
