Well just had my winter check! car is in prestine working order! :thumbs:
1. Needs Brake Fluid change. so i have to get AP Brake Fluid.
2. Needs Aircon belt BMW found a small crack in the Belt only 20Euros for the belt :notworthy:

So brake fluid change and belt done 200Euros all in including vat so was very happy with that! :thumbs:

Inspection11 - £800 Cotswold - Just put their prices up form £650 because of the cost of parts, but are doing it for £750 for me. If you don't ask you don't get.

Here's a few quotes for Inspection II from dealers in the Southwest, all including VAT. There's some variation...! :bigcry:

Apparently Cotswold specialise in 'M' cars and seem able to undercut other dealers. BMW do offer 10% discount to all cars over 4 years old - except 'M' cars...

In the end i went to Westerly Yeovil (most convenient) and saved £100 as i didn't require a new air filter and i also insisted that i was given the 10% discount! Total cost £830. :whistle:

It certainly pays to shop around and some dealers appear to apply the 10% discount when others don't - unless you ask. I just wish that i live near Cotswold BMW!

But that doesn't include any of the 4-plus discount (which applies to some of it...)

I've not dropped the car off yet but from what I've heard, I'm happy to pay the £200 premium to take it to Murketts.

They actually know what a CSL is!

I see Dick Lovett in Bristol have finaly drop there prices fro 3 year old M car services.

Slightly cheaper than Cotswold now.

The service guy at Malton (Stefan) is also a real petrol head, so he knows exactly what a CSL/M car is, and doesn't give you any crap. A real top bloke so highly reconmended to anyone within a resonable distance of York.

I have 4 dealers with 12 miles of Durham, but would rather drive 70 miles to Malton to them to do the car.

Not been brave enough to ask Scotthall's in Southampton as InspII not due for 4000 miles yet..
When having issues with the run around, labour rate halved (to £60) when the car got to 6 years old??? Don't know if was just them or across the network or if still applied to the CSL..

Unfortunatly if you want the BMW stamp which most buyers expect to see when buying then there is no choice. I take mine to BMW for the servicing for that reason only and all other work to my friendly local specialist.

Whilst I appreciate that getting the lowest price is usually the name of the game, given the great service that Murks have given me recently, I feel it only fair to give them the non warranty business, even if they do turn out to be slightly dearer. As a business man myself I would be pretty miffed if someone who has been looked after as I have been, buggered off somewhere else to get service or non-warranty work done. Granted I am a special case !! ....in more ways than one !:banghead:

I think it's about £850 ish but I'm sure he'll price match for SPECIAL cases ;) :hahaha: Murketts are one of very few BMW main dealers that offer "SIX plus" discount program, for which most CSLs qualify :whistle:
