Just had a full wrap job done on my Challenge Stradale, thought you fellas may be interested.... its now been offically unveiled this weekend, this is the story behind the UK;s first white Strad, albeit using Paintsheilds brand new product, paintwrap. This product is essentially film, but with a genuine painted surface unlike vinyl wraps. This means it can be detailed, T-cutted , zymolled etc etc like conventional paint.

Some months ago Tom @ Paintsheild asked for cars to try out a brand new product, so me being the inquisitve type, I pmed Tom and offered the Strad even though I had no real idea what it was, but given that I have used Paintsheild successfully on my cars for many years, I was reasonably comfortable it wouldnt be anything too radical.

How wrong was I??? http://www.fcars.co.uk/forum/images/smilies/laugh.gif After a short phone call, I went up to Toms place to view the various colours available for the fully reversible wrap, and settled on a sparkling metallic white. Pictures dont do this colour justice, in bright sunlight, or under bright lights it goes from a flat clean white into a dazzling sparking white, like fresh snow almost, it sounds bling, but its really really not. So the first shipment was ordered and the preperation from my end began, strpping door handles badges etc etc and I had the wheels refinished Chrome black...heres the before and after, hope you like it, Me and Tom are also working on a product which I think will be of much interest to all us CSL owners, watch this space!!!

Major headache mate. Removing the headlights is a mission in itself, but splitting the lens from the inner is a proper ballache :bigcry::bigcry::bigcry:

Not looking forward to doing the reverse process, might go sparkly yellow next :thumbs::thumbs:

That looks great.:thumbs:Sounds like a very interesting process. Look forward to seeing the new CSL product. Seriously thinking of a wrap but just don't like the finish. This might be what I'm looking for.:smokin:

Do you have any indication on cost? I know the CS might be quite a different to doing a CSL.

I saw this on Sat and I must say it looks awesome, firstly I wasn't too sure if it was paint or a wrap. I took a few photos will post them later tonight.

Mine is the first development car, my Range Rover is also being done, a very metallic dark green. Once Paintsheild are happy with the fit and finish of the product he will be offering it to the general public, but it has to be spot on first.

"carbon" is stunning mate, best fake carbon I have ever seen, looks easily as good as the real deal:thumbs:

The yellow would look good on your pork, but you need to get the colour samples in the sun, the sparkle is amazing!!!

Hi Lee,

Sure, will stick it in the post tonight.

I saw your car hiding in the background when I first popped upto Paintshield, alongside a CLK Black series.

Like the colour combo but the cream seats don't suit the look at all IMO!

Sounds like an interesting bit of technology... :)
